Fandom (or og story): Vampire The Masquerade (Victorian Age: Vampire)
Age: 36 when embraced, 37 now(he’s just a kindred baby)
Race/Ethnicity/Class: Irish\Toreador (11th generation)
Describe them physically: Dorian is tall (187 cm), lean with a slightly athletic build but with the kind of thin that tells you he used to forget to eat. He has long, curly red hair with golden undertones that falls just past his shoulders, usually pulled back in a pony tail as a reluctant nod to Victorian propriety. Large green eyes full of quiet sadness, full lips, and high cheekbones give him the look of a Pre-Raphaelite muse -- or Chappell Roan, depending on the lighting. No body modifications, though he's been thinking about earrings and piercings (perks of having a Tzimisce in the coterie). A few scalpel scars on his stomach placed there deliberately, since cuts on the arms would have been noticed. At first glance his skin looks smooth and hairless, but touch tells a different story cus his body hair is simply very fair and surprisingly plentiful. Same goes for his freckles, which scatter from his face down to his shoulders and back. Two moles stand out: one on the right side of his neck, and one low on his stomach, right where things get interesting :D His eyes are slightly sunken, with the faint shadows of someone who never quite slept enough.
Describe how they dress: Dorian dresses as a gentleman of his upper-middle-class station should -- but his quiet rebellion shows up in bright and pastel waistcoats, floral prints, and a near-pathological refusal to wear a hat. He'll let his hair down sometimes, which sends the stuffier gentlemen around him into quiet horror. That said, when the stakes are higher than just reputation, Dorian can dress properly: clean, composed, and usually in black. For balls and masquerade parties he goes as festive as possible, and quite fond of wearing women's clothing on the dance floor. Or in certain kindred bedrooms, for that matter in a rather different style. 😏
Favourite things: Medicine and the study of anatomy and diseases. Things given to him by people he loves. Dorian has a deep attachment to trinkets -- small objects gifted with care. He carries them as a way of keeping the giver close, something to touch when the people he loves aren't there. He has a few of these: a pair of glasses, a ring, and a set of surgical instruments. He also loves things that are wrong imperfect, strange, bordering on grotesque. Defective or distorted figurines, physical anomalies preserved in formalin, skulls of those who died of bone cancer - to Dorian, that's genuine beauty. Also Nosferatu too. And gargoyles.
Beside the objects Dorian love to being accepted as who he is. The smell of rain in a forest. Thinking about what trees might think about. Holding and caressing hands of people he loves. When someone read aloud to him. His cat, Pangur Ban the Third. And waking up in someone's arms.
Least favourite things: Being turned into someone he's not. Being put in a box. Loneliness. Things that are too perfect. Clan Ventrue. Pointless violence. The idea that Kindred must be alone and can't trust anyone.
Hobbies: Writing books. Making tiny outfits for rats with his Nosferatu best friend. Talking to his cat.
Quirks: Twisting his hair around his finger during tense conversations. Chewing his knuckles when deep in thought. Compulsively tidying the space around him because of OCD
What's up in the romance department (and if they're aro, are they in a queerplatonic relationship):
An absolute mess, honestly. We won't count the lover he lost during his mortal life but it's fun that he was Embraced just as he was finally climbing out of mourning his lover.
But his sire… that was love from the very first second, and not a drop of Presence involved. Dorian would have given his life for him -- and, well, ironically he did. Embracing contained not the only kiss that was exchanged that night. Dorian loves his sire with the kind of consuming devotion that, if it ever broke, would take the meaning out of his entire unlife. Unfortunately, the more time passes, the more that unconditional love gets tested because his sire is a walking collection of red flags and everything Dorian claims to hate. But love can overcome and change everything. Dorian hope so.
BUT a little entanglement with his sire's rival-slash-lover, the scheming Lord Regent of the Chantry, led Dorian into the second most intense romance of his unlife. He was drawn in by charisma first, then completely undone by a brilliant mind and some very cute autistic-to-autistic communication. Nothing is more intimate than someone showing you their collection of things and actually telling stories and explanation about every piece of it. Oh the irony -- Dorian spent a long time being just another thing in that collection himself -- but steady work on tremere Humanity paid off, and the lord-regent has start to see Dorian as another person, very much alive and loved by him. And Dorian, in turn feels incredibly calm next to tremere. It's a rare condition in world of darkness, so it's very dear for Dorian's heart.
