love designing outfits but keeping them monotone has always been a struggle for me, so for harrow i focused more on shapes and textures. i like her in structured, top-heavy silhouettes!

there's also a part in htn (the ball dream sequence) about the aunts repurposing her ancestors' old clothes for her so i kept that in mind for some of her outfits...jacket cut and laced back together to become adjustable, ruching to fake more volume or maybe hide holes in tattered thin cloth, etc :')

People who try to copy historical writing styles don't say enough weird stuff in them. I'm listening to a 1909 story about a ghost car right now, and the narrator just said he honked the car horn a bunch of times, but the way he phrased it was "I wrought a wild concerto on the hooter".

i want to do a painting of a tiger taking a bath to put in a bathroom (bathroom-themed bathroom) and to this end i made a little maquette out of clay and i suspect this will scope creep into having both a painting and sculpture of a tiger or perhaps only a sculpture of a tiger. if i do both should they be displayed together or separately

Working on cutting out a large piece of wood to do the painting on, which is a constraint that will either be really fun or really annoying. Maybe both

Wood primed and underpainted and sketch transferred mostly by cutting it out in different chunks and tracing around them. Stripes to be determined. Nobody let me work on this again for at least two weeks

I usually let fiber marinate longer in the stash, but I was fascinated by the colors in this merino as soon as I saw it at the store.

See, I finally made the yarn store a hour away because I was halfway there for biking reasons. So many colors! What sort of mud would I get. After buying, I decided that I was going to spin one ply straight across the top, and the other by splitting the fiber lengthwise by color (as best I could).

I like it. I think you get both a coherent yarn, but variety in color in muted tones. It's 16 wpi, 275 yards out of 3.75 ounces. Hat?
