These are the four British Bird colourways (Robin, Great Tit, Blackbird, Wood Pigeon) you voted to be re-dyed for @thewoolmontyshow on 7/8th June in Sheffield. I’ve also created a separate batch of Wood Pigeon that is currently available online for those who can’t make it. The others will also be available after the show if any stock remains but it’s first dibs for attendees!
Hand dyed luxury indie yarn for knitting and crochet.

So you remember those pockets I wove into this fabric couple months ago? Back then I was charmed by the idea that I could hide a small item in there - I could give this fabric a secret that is part of its structure and impossible to get out unless you break the fabric itself.
So I wrote this little poem, a gentle call out for being curious enough to break my beautiful hand woven linen fabric and messaged my lovely sculptor/jewel smith friend.
Yesterday we were finally able to realize my vision! These tiny bronze plaques are made to hide in the fabric - peeking through shiny enough that you see that there is something there to tease at your imagination but - impossible to get out or read without breaking it.

My first ever embroidery project that isn't visible mending or stuffed animal related.
Since it's my first time doing something like this it's a bit of a mess and I couldn't figure out how to finish off the edges so I just did a very tight blanket stitch around it.
Ended up not being able to lay flat at all but I still like it. Should probably apply a backing or something to prevent the warping before I remove it from the hoop next time.
Okay fiber arts tumblr, I’m trying to find a post from some years ago—someone posted their project, possibly for art school? where they wove a textile with little metal rectangles encased in the fabric, with engraved notes that could only be read if the material was cut open or worn through.
Does anyone recognize this? Do you know who the artist is? I want to reference it in something but I can’t track it down!
this has become a tip of the tongue problem for me because i absolutely recall this piece and seeing it circulate here.
can anybody give my friend a hand? @medievaleftea @batbetbitbotbut @katyunderthebed is this something in y'alls wheelhouses maybe?
if anybody has a general date range or year they can recall seeing it around that could be helpful for me, there's a lot of non weaving stuff in the double weave and double cloth tags, but i feel like those might be promising since that's the proper description for the major technique.
Hmmm i don't recall seeing this one. Reblogging for reach!

The worst thing about fast fashion is how it's devalued textile arts so much that people often can't comprehend why you wouldn't always just buy the cheapest possible piece of clothing. "Why would you spend that much on a shirt?" idk why would anyone buy an art piece from an artist if they could just get a print from Amazon? Why learn to make your own art to display in your home when you could get it from IKEA?
I meant to wind my next warp yesterday but i’m sickkkk ughhhh and i just want to sit still and do nothing until i feel better
Finishing up my next pattern

This is the quilt my great-grandmother made from the ribbons her gravedigger son brought home when the funeral wreaths died and had to be thrown out. Back then, the ribbons were made of good-quality satin and it seemed a shame to let the fabric go to waste, so she washed and ironed them and kept them rolled up in a drawer until there were enough to make a quilt top. It's faded quite a bit over the decades and lost some of its sheen. The bedstead was hers, too.
(The shams are modern and made of quilter's cotton.)
My bank account is in the negative, and all I have left in cash is nickles and dimes. I have bills past due, more bills coming up soon, and very little food. I don't know if there's even enough gas in my car to get to the foodbank and back on Saturday. I could really use some sales right now.
I have bookmarks, potholders, jewelry, accessories, pride wear, pottery, knitting patterns, and more available for sale in my shop, all hand made by me. If you’re on a tight budget, check out my discount section!
I also take commissions, and have a gofundme. If there’s a custom piece you’d be interested in having me make beyond the order forms available on my ko-fi, I always welcome messages here.
Shipping outside the USA is not currently available through the store, but I can and do ship internationally – just message me about it and pay me directly through paypal, cashapp, or venmo, or with a card through my ko-fi once I can get you a shipping estimate. Online orders of 2 or more items come with a free watercolour bookmark!
Reblogs are always deeply appreciated.
