I'm very happy to be moving into a more professional stage of my design life, and I now post the majority of my set/costume work on my own website linked above. Please feel free to browse! This is what became of those Gothic sketches I uploaded a few weeks ago. This is my small part (about 40x80cm) of a much larger suspended sculpture/scale model piece that I'm working on with 7 other designers.

Set of sketches for a project I'm working on at the moment. Stylised fragments of gothic architecture, based on medieval altarpiece frames and some drawings by John Ruskin. They will be laser cut in layers of acrylic plastic and then partially melted, as part of a larger conceptual/scenographic model.

Paper costume based on the crane character from the Japanese story designs I posted last month.  The design is based around the idea of raising the shoulder height of the wearer using a frame structure, so that the bird's head appears convincing while the wearer's own head and shoulders are obscured in the collar and chest feathers.
