So, I said that I would talk about when I finally made the connection between the environment and the meat industry. Here it is.  I guess my experience is similar to the guy from Cowspiracy. I totally believed in all of the environmental-save-the-dolphins-recycle-your-life-walk-everywhere-2-minute-shower organization-foundation-application whatever blahblah. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t know about that stuff! I had never suspected (even the slightest bit) that the meat industry actually made the biggest contribution to environmental damage. When I found that to be true, I felt like my heart had dropped from my rib cage and down into my dumb ass.

 In high school I needed some hours for credit and I could have done any other volunteer work, but I really wanted this specific spot because I was/am actually passionate about keeping our HOME alive. I used to volunteer at my city nature centre by walking around urban parks talking to visitors/team mates about how we should/can conserve wildlife. It was so much fun to spend my time with others who cared about the environment (even though sometimes I complained about the weather and ugly t-shirt uniforms LOL) and I learned much more than I had expected. My fellow volunteers were honestly a kind bunch and management was pretty heavy on the hippy side of things (my boss guy had longer hair than me- and I have pretty long hair). Despite all this, veganism never came up in conversation. I even remember that whenever they gave us food, it was hotdogs and I’m pretty sure I ate one (smothered in ketchup and relish). Once, there was vegetarian lasagna, but yeah... If only all of our efforts were put towards educating the public to see the nonsense that the world has been taught to just eat up!

Doesn’t it only seem right that beauty should be cruelty free?

I loved glam and everything kawaii since I can remember and as I grew up of course would save my money to buy lip smackers, glitter, and (of course) black eyeliner. I NEVER ONCE, though, thought about how products are made and tested. In the end, I had been supporting companies that were NOT animal friendly for years (8 years to be exact)!

Now, I want to share all the cruelty free beauty products that I can get my little hands on! Through DIY makeup tutorials using cruelty free products, cruelty free  product reviews, &a few dashes of sugar and spice and everything (slightly) NOT nice haha, I’m sure that the #crueltyfreebeauty trend will become not just a TREND, but the STANDARD for anyone buying/using products. 

We earn our money and I’m sure that NONE of us really intend to be spending it on animal cruelty. Many of us just don’t know what’s out there, so here I am to sprinkle it all about in a fun and magical way (because UNICORN ESSENCE ENTERPRISE, duh).
