I blamed myself for a while. I thought I should've been stronger. But as I got older, I realized I'm only human. TICKET TO HEAVEN Episode 6
At first I was a little perplexed as to why there weren't images of Mary in the last episode.
The virgin had been very prominent before, as a symbol of unconditional love and someone to turn to in times of doubt and sorrow.
But of course there weren't. Because we had real women who served those purposes: auntie Lek, Barth's mom and also Tanrak's, who was named, aptly, Mary.
The divine made flesh.
Lust means letting desire control us. What if you can’t stop it?
I'm lonely. Without you here, I'd be dying of loneliness.

I’m tired. Me too. We walked all this way. I mean… I’m tired of hiding us. Is it worth it, then? Not yet.

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out. - Acts 3:19
These images are stunning. So cleverly done.
You know the kids here aren't like normal kids.
God sees you always.
“What is it, Tanrak? Huh? The rosary I lent you. Kongdech returned it to me. I think he must be suspicious about us. Calm down. It's nothing. What if he tells Father? You think he'd tell Father? Barth, we're screwed. It's just a rosary. People can borrow those, right? Right? It's nothing. Just let it go for now. Okay?”

Very on brand for the boy who is pissed off at God to still have a car rosary hanging on his rearview mirror.
And for him to be cool with La Virgen while hating everything else about Catholicism.
How very Latino of him.
lingering kisses on the forehead, the tip of your nose and the corner of your mouth; foreheads meeting in a desperate need to sink into each others' skin; our names gasped into the infinitesimal space between us; hands that hold, lift, unbearably gentle—the sheer intimacy between barth and tanrak when they stole a moment from movie night was voyeuristic
I love that half the ticket to heaven bts stuff Aof is sharing is like. The script gave vibes only, no dialogue, and GeminiFourth just decided to create the most heartbreakingly beautiful thing with it. What a gift to him and us.
Barth calling a phone number that he knows no one is going to answer but that still brings him some sort of comfort sounds a little bit like praying

This scene is the turning point for Tanrak.
He's ready to end the relationship and choose the "path of God” then they meet in front of the saint to whom Tanrak's mother was devoted, the saint that gave her the gift of his parents love, Tanrak himself, a love so strong they named him after it
Barth tries to argue for his love beyond religion; his love is strong enough to overcome everything, and he wants Tanrak to say that his is too. In a final appeal, he affirms that God created us to love, therefore, their love cannot be wrong, and it's at this moment that I think Tanrak makes his decision.
How could he fear a God who always forgives and who made creatures to love their next? In fact, I have a theory that he feared the priest's reaction more than anything else (beyond religious guilt) but that’s another take
1 John 4:8 "Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love"
