so... i may have only watched three dramas so far this year 🙈

depending on how long you've followed my blog, you may know that i was really active in 2022-2023 and then pretty much took a break until this year. i got very busy with grad school and work and wasn't super interested in most of the series that came out during that time.

but i've really enjoyed the three series i've watched this year and have loved making gifs for them too!

Ticket to Heaven

I've been looking forward to this one for years, and (on the whole) it did not disappoint! I was raised Catholic (am no longer religious) and found it really interesting to see the faith through this lens as well as hear perspectives from viewers who are less familiar with Catholicism. Although I do wish we had a few more episodes to let all the feelings simmer and elaborate more on barth and tanrak's life away from the school, the script, cinematography, and acting were all superb.

When Oranges Fall

This series is a perfect little coming-of-age, friends to lovers treat. It could be slow-paced for some, but I'm really enjoying the slice-of-life vibes and getting to watch Ko Neung and Ko Song's relationship grow from furtive glances to rain-soaked confessions. It's a lighthearted story with some wisdom about growing up mixed in that feels nostalgic and emotionally resonant. This is the first series of Almond and Progress's that I've watched, and I think the two of them have a lot of potential!
