i've always believed that (at least with modern gnome) the default experience is made for tablets. It doesn't feel good to use as a desktop computer. Don't give me a touch interface when i don't have touch screens!!!!!!!

I already know what phone I'd buy today if my current Samsung A03s broke. (It's a Chinese phone that costs about $300 on sale and has terrible software support but a headphone jack, expandable storage, and even a thermal camera.)

I don't know for laptops though. A Linux gaming laptop seems to be minimum $1500 which is more than double what I paid for my current one. But I really do like the idea of dual-booting Arch with an actually supported free OS.

#the trick is that outside of AAA games you don't need a gaming laptop. modern AMD iGPUs are as good as 2014 100W desktop cards
