this is like 100% petty all things considered but i just canât wait until some of u learn that it is absolutely normal for people of any age to refer to their dads as âdaddyâ in many parts of the south like it isnât a red flag there. 60 year old women in my family still refer to their dads as âdaddy.â and btw i think anyone should be allowed to call their own fathers whatever they want without someone either making it nasty or being accusatory like donât you get tired of making ppl uncomfortable for no reason
good morning to every person who calls their parents mommy or daddy or pĂĄpi or papa or mama or baba or any other âchildishâ name. and to everyone who is unnecessarily rude or condescending under this post please go back to sleep and get some good rest so youâre not as cranky and mean to strangers on the internet.
Thats... Actually not a bad idea? Like obviously not everyone owns a tent but it isn't terribly hard to get your hands on a cheap one (atleast in the us). The weather rating on tents has more to do with how they withstand the elements (how wet can they get) than how insulated they are. You probably wouldn't want one that's mostly mesh, but otherwise just about any tent will sleep really warm, especially with several people in it. Might be cold when you go to bed. But it should warm up fast.
Many of these climate change crazy weather tips seem to be pretty ineffective or of limited use, but this one seems like an actual good idea to me.
Beyond Walmart, google maps outdoor or sport gear. Most of those will have some sort of cheap tent, though I would avoid REI as they really only carry more expensive options.
This is actually largely the original idea behind four-poster beds. Castles are a bugger to heat, especially stone ones. But if your bed has its own roof and tapestries that hang down on all four sides, you basically have a tiny room with woolen walls.
GASP that makes SO MUCH SENSE I always thought it was just for the aesthetic!!! NEAT

It's disrespectful
This is SPECTACULARLY done
I feel called out
this is it. this is the funniest scooby doo clip
God created hot tea bc he wants women to be happy
Ngl the concept of gender becomes a lot less palatable once you realize it's built on sexism.
One of the big reasons kids are claiming to be trans/non-binary is because they are trying to rebel against sexist stereotypes perpetuated by gender theory. But they don't know how to actually rebel against it and so instead end up trapped under said system.
Teen girls are told that they have to accept being glittery pink sex dolls because That's What a Woman Is.
Teen boys are told that they have to be disposable, invulnerable, super soldiers because That's What a Man is.
Proponents of Gender Theory frequently deny this, but that is the truth of what they think Female and Male mean.
To them, a woman is not a person with a vagina. It is lipstick and mini skirts and sexual objectification and plastic surgery and fashion trends and having the biggest boobs.
To them, a man is not a person with a penis. It is sportsball and trucks and mud and guns and dirt and steroids and being sexually dominant.
So faced with this worldview, most kids comply by either trying to live up to the impossible standards of their sex, or the impossible standards of the opposite sex depending on which of the two they feel most comfortable being reduced to.
The ones that go non-binary are closer to escaping this system, but the mistake of assuming that there must be a secret Special Gender that is better for them, instead of realizing that the very concept of gender is fundamentally broken and unethical.
I think, in the future, people are going to look back on this way if thinking with the same scorn and disgust and bafflement that we look back on the sexism and bigotry of past eras.
We have not changed. Sexism never died. It just changed it's branding.
I've been thinking about how, when you're little, you're surrounded by adults who adore you, who you're never going to remember.
I don't mean like your parents and stuff, but like â I work in after school care, and I'm forever meeting five and six year olds who seem like the most incredible people on earth. Kids who painstakingly explain the rules of handball, kids who ask me to help them colour in, kids who feel really deeply wounded by a classmate's behaviour, just an endless stream of them.
Or like my friends' kids who I've babysat once or twice. A kid who played with me in a creek, a kid whose mannerisms are etched in my mind. Cousins' babies who I held for a while. Even just stranger's babies in shops who stare at me the way babies do.
One of my best friends has an online friend who's recently had a baby, and he tells me - someone who doesn't know the friend's name even - about that baby having their first bath. Because that's the kind of love and excitement that little children inspire.
None of these children will remember me.
I literally don't have a greater point here, it's just blowing my mind to think about how much love is directed towards people who can't remember any of us. They can maybe, I guess, if everything goes well, remember the feeling of safety that ought to go with that love.
My cousin had a baby a while back and I visited her, recently, and she had a nap while I ended up holding the baby. This like, two month old baby. She can't even smile yet. I do not have a lot of experience with infants - my mum had to show me how to hold the baby, and she cried a fair bit until we found a system that worked.
And then she slept in my arms, resting on my chest, for two or three hours.
It was at least an hour before I even thought about doing something else. Holding a sleeping baby, it turns out, can be a completely absorbing activity, even if you have ADHD. (Baby also enjoys the inherent leg-bouncing that comes with the ADHD.)
Now I can't stop thinking about how when that kid is five or six she's gonna run into me at Christmas lunch or some such event and - even if I see her on every holiday between now and then - I will basically be a stranger to her. But to me she will have the starring role in a memory I'm gonna treasure probably forever.
I can't stop thinking about all the aunts and uncles and family friends and second cousins once removed that I was routinely introduced to at Christmas lunches or weddings or funerals, who would say "You're so tall! Has it been that long? You probably don't remember me haha."
and how im gonna be saying the exact same thing very soon

Adhd symptoms no one talks about:
I cant finish cleaning my room because I canât organize my desk because I havenât organized my vanity because I cant organize my vanity because I havenât organized my closet drawers because I cant organize my closet drawers until I organize my nightstand and I cant do that until I GET A NIGHTSTAND because the space between my really heavy bookshelf full of books and the space between my bed is abnormally narrow BUT TONIGHT WHILE I WAS AT ROSS I found the perfect nightstand so now I can go home and put all the stuff thats supposed to go on and under my nightstand on and under my nightstand and then I can organize the space next to my bed, then I can organize the closet drawers, then im at another impasse because I still need the proper vanity organizational materials; but we have made some achievements tonight boys
Itâs like every problem is this
Sometimes even things that arenât problems are Rush HourâŚwhich then turns it into a problem when you canât do it
sometimes itâs annoying when your character canât jump in a video game but how often do you jump in real life?
âDo you even remember the last time you jumped?â is a question I never anticipated leaving me feeling so hollow and terrified.
I absolutely hate it when people call sex a need. âI have needsâ or âhe has specific needsââno, you have wants. Sex is a desire, not a need; otherwise nuns and monks wouldâve died from practicing celibacy. And 99% of the time that I see sex being called a need, itâs to justify cheating.
So can we please stop disillusioning ourselves and stop calling sex a need

it is truly astounding how unembarrassed people are to have less basic curiosity about the world than a rural peasant from the 1400s
abled ppl who insist they aren't ableist are actually so chill with eugenics until you call it eugenics
"well offering euthanasia to people with disabilities who can't afford to live isâ" eugenics. it's eugenics.
"why do disabled people have children? I mean they're just consigning them to this painful lifeâ" eugenics <3
"but their quality of life is so reduced how can they justify bringing kids intoâ" â¨eugenicsâ¨
"maybe medicine has advanced too far. I mean why are we keeping people with [insert condition here] alive when their quality of lifeâ" EUGENICS
idc if you're â¨concerned⨠for my â¨quality of life⨠that's a) not your problem and b) something which could be improved by providing better accommodations for disabled ppl and making sure we have to deal with less ableist bullshit and ableist assholes like yourself.
