...Ares: If we have each other (Alec Benjamin)
Ares is, in one way, Hera's eldest. She had a lot of first-time-mom trouble with him, but she loves him to pieces, and she is incredibly proud of him. They are a strong unit and very similar in how fiercely they care for their family.
... Athena: Safe and Sound (Taylor Swift)
Hera's other eldest child. She's very proud of Athena and sees her discipline, creativity, and moral drive, but she's also very aware of the underlying vulnerability. Especially now when it's more out in the open, she would like to keep her daughter safe and give her all the gentleness and love she deserves.
...Hephaestus: Rockabye (Anne Marie)
Hera adores her youngest just like her older children, and if necessary, it's them against the world. She will never accept second-best for him, and she'll do anything to ensure he gets all the love he deserves from her.
...Zeus: I knew you were trouble (Taylor Swift)
While it has long become a firmly established thing that Zeus will cheat and doesn't care what she thinks of it, and Hera has tried to accept it, that doesn't change that she's frustrated and hurt by never being a priority for her own husband.
...Metis: Birds (Imagine Dragons)
To Hera, Metis is more than just a friend who passed away. Metis is also her idealized version of what a mother should be, because she saw how well Athena was doing before her death. The fact that she doesn't *know* all the details of why and how Metis was good with Athena makes this worse, because she can project. There's something both wistful and guilty in their relationship as Hera is wondering whether she's doing what Metis would have wanted or whether she is failing.
...Hestia: Alone Pt. 2 (Ava Max)
Hera's oldest sister is her anchor. She trusts Hestia more than anyone else in the entire world, and she couldn't be more grateful to have her. Always having someone in her corner and ready to be there for her is the biggest point of stability for Hera.
... Demeter: Bad Liar
While Demeter and Hera are a little more independent from each other than Hera and Hestia, they still love each other to pieces. Hera struggles with not always being able to help her sister, for example with her seasonal depression which, especially in light of what Athena is going through, Hera feels like she's left her too alone with or didn't try to understand enough. (vibes are there for this song, the lyrics are kinda meh)

The way Potterheads keep repeating "but what about death of the author???" almost feels malicious at this point. You should damn well know that having Good Intentions In Your Heart does nothing to stop the material impact of your actions (like keeping the IP relevant, creating avenues for people who weren't fans before to come into the fandom, etc).
Death of the Author is not a reason to keep participating in this fandom. It's just a shitty excuse.
Death of the author is for when the author is, yâknow, dead. And no longer capable of profiting off your engagement. Death of the author fundamentally cannot apply to a living author who will use every cent you give her to make the world a worse place.
What death of the author/artist actually means=you get to interpret the work however the fuck you want regardless of the creator's intent.
What death of the author/artist does NOT mean=giving attention to a work that you know the creator will use to cause harm to real people.
Could I have worded that better? Probably but that's the gist in case anyone was still confused on what Death of the author/artist means.

when you get crazy enough about The Character you'd think the situations you imagine them in would get more elaborate and lore intensive. but no. imagining my wizard pacing around huffily being slightly peeved at a mild inconvenience. sometimes someone I follow falls victim to severe Character delirium to the point where they stop even saying the character's name and just refer to them by an epithet like some kind of malevolent entity whom they don't wish to accidentally summon, so if the sickness sets in quickly enough and I don't pay close attention for a week I'm just Never going to figure Who this bastard haunting my friend Actually Is. and I'll spend months scrolling my dash occasionally seeing appeals to "that fucking horse" or "my evil grub."

IMO, blurring the lines between âIâm defending them because theyâre rightâ and âIâm defending them because youâre taking this too farâ is step numero uno to cutting down the very existence of fair trial and democracyâeven in places where saying that might seem a little dramatic.Â
