So I saw a post recently on Reddit that pointed out the similarities and parallels between Sera and Carmilla, and while I do think it does make some good points and reasonings, I think there is another character that Carmilla has just as good, if not better parallels with in terms of her story and character we have seen so far. That character in question is Lucifer.

Now yes, this may seem a bit odd of a stretch, but hear me out.

For starters, they are both single parents. Lucifer is a single parent of Charlie, while Carmilla is a single parent to her daugthers Clara and Odette, they also both deeply love there children and will clearly do anything for them.

Despite both not being the best parents in the world as Charlie and Lucifers relationship is clearly very strained, and while Carmilla's bond with her daugthers seems more healthy, I do think that will change in S3, since in the episode of S2 were Vox manipulates Carmilla into building the MOL, you can see Odette about to intervene, and then alittle bit later, both daugthers look concerned, potentially setting up the possibility of Odette or even both daugthers disowning Carmilla for this or at least there relationship with her becoming strained.

This leads to my next point, they both did things that they thought was for the greater good, but ended up being bad in the long run, with Lucifer allowing the Exterminations, while Carmilla built the MOL and nearly did basically the same thing to Heaven. They also both faced consequences for this (or i believe Carmilla will in S3) with there reputation all but destroyed. Finally the last big comparison is they are both introverted...and also incredibly attractive.

Now this is partially why, controversial take, but I actually do ship Lucifer and Carmilla together romantically. Yes im not sure if it will happen or not, and id still prefer Zestmilla to happen. But I think there is no denying there is a opposites attract kindof appeal to the two and also i think these parallels show they have surprisingly alot in common as well.

And honestly, i could see Lucifer and Carmilla meeting and becoming associated with one another in future seasons, we did see Lucifer with her and Zestial in ths pilot after all.

So while elements from the pilot were scrapped for the final version of the show, Viv has confirmed the pilot is still canon in some form, and I could see the idea of Lucifer being an Ally to Carmilla eventually or at least a version of that original idea remaining intact. Perhaps Lucifer and Carmilla meet in S3. The theme of S3 is family and revelation after all and it will also be a lore dump for the Morningstar family (including Lucifer), while we will also be exploring Carmilla's past guilt more in the next two seasons.

So if they do plan on doing this, S3 could be the best place to do. I could see an episode were Lucifer and Carmilla are forced together and at first, don't like each other and argue and bicker over the Exterminations and MOL respectfully, but as the episode goes on, they begin to understand one another more and bond over there love for there daugthers.

Leading to a moment in the episode where Carmilla finally breaks down, and admits that Charlie was right and she was wrong to help Vox, and that doing so, she lost everything (perhaps she even opens up about the lost of her husband and this being a big motivation for why she does what she does and is the way she is) Lucifer (in a parallel to how Sir Pentious helped Sera mentally in S2) helps lift her back up by opening up on losing Lilith (another parallel i forgot to mention, they both lost someone they love...though this one is admittedly more surface level due to the circumstances being different), and why he allowed the exterminations, and how she doesn't have to be broken alone.

Becoming friends and allies by the end of the episode, and, if Zestmilla is not meant to be, plants the seeds for them to become a couple in a future season. Now obviously, idk if anything i wrote will actually happen. Its possible Lucifer and Carmilla never meet, and even if something like i suggested and pitched does happen, I could easily see them just forming a close Platonic bond and remaining friends while Carmilla and Zestial enter a romantic relationship (or maybe all three enter a Poly/Throuple, idk).

Because not only did S2 lay the groundwork for a potential arc of her facing the consequences of helping Vox but also perhaps realizing that maybe what she does for a living isn't the best option moving forward, but no top of that Viv also stated that the theme of S3 will be family. With The Morningstars and Angel Dust's family being given more focus and development.

Plus, Zestial is supposed to get a slightly bigger or more notable role, given we will be getting some of/part of his backstory this season. So with this you think would mean that Carmilla and her family would be getting alot more focus as well. But Viv has aaid next to NOTHING about her role this season. Which is weird because considering that Carmilla's family seems to be the closests to a healthy functional family we have seen so far, they could use her family to contrast with how dysfunctional the Morningstar's are and how clearly toxic Angel's situation is.

But nope, it seems like Carmilla will be sidelined this season, her daugthers will likely be notjing more then characters that exists yet again, and even the stuff Viv mentioned with Zestial feels weird, because this is what she saif when talking about him in S3 according to the Wiki:

"Zestial is bad like other characters, and season 3 will have allusions to what he did."

What the heck is that supposed to mean? Is he going to be a Villain? Potentially the main villain if not Alastor or Lilith or Val or whoever? Or is whatever we learn going to be planting the seeds for him to be a threat later? If not any of that, then is it just saying that was he did in his past made him bad? Or is he bad but more mellowed out thanks to Carmilla? I have no idea because the way its worded sounds weird.

Yes, i could be overreacting, and we will likely get more about S3 once we get closer to its release date, but it be such a shame, because Carmilla is tied with Emily as my favorite female character in the show and second favorite character in the show in general (No. 1 is still Alastor), and id hate to see S3 just sideline her and do nothing with her character, after being a side character in S1, and doing more in S2 but doing something that left the fans divided.

Think about it, the both subvert the Disney and Fairytale tropes, they both have a protagonist that the world sees as a monster and they themselves sees as a monster, they both have WAY too idealistic for there own good redheaded Princesses, they both have a villain who just wants to marry the princess so they can be king, Donkey literally doubles as the Counterpart to both Sven and Olaf, and they both are cultural phenomenons that have grown a popular almost cult like fanbase with Memes.

And, they both have a sequel thay expanded upon the world (the difference is Shrek's sequel did it well, Frozen's sequel is....well, Frozen's sequel). Also, both have one parent from the princess who is hiding something about there heritage. Yes, I am aware these are very surface level comparisons. But still, I feel it was a weird enough connection to be worth mentioning.
