               Having a family at all was still a strange concept to her. She’d only ever had her mum and that had been enough for her.       &    WHAT    IF    SHE    DOESN’T    WANT    TO    GO    ?    what if she knows that she doesn’t belong with the rest of them    –    her family.    the people who isolated her    ,    abandoned her    ;    left her to fend for herself for years    ,    ridiculed by a man claiming to be their father    ,    constantly being put down    –    so ordinary.    (    no.    not anymore.    never again.    )    the man was scared.    scared that he wouldn’t be able to control her.    & he used her sister to keep her suppressed.    a dullness too profound to imagine.    her sister knew.    but she never told her    –    a family secret & the only person that might not have had knowledge of it was    –    five    .    .    .

waiting for a response, she continues to watch her sister. things between them had been tense since the incident and since vanya had come into her own with her powers. it’s been… they needed to clear the air and though she can’t speak, they still needed to talk. letting out a soft breath, allison closes her eyes momentarily when she hears that comment. it’s not what she was expecting, at least not immediately, but she decides to go with it. writing her response, she shows it to the pale girl sat opposite her.

i know and it’s okay. i know you didn’t do it out of spite, that you probably did it as a reflex. but, are you okay?
