When someone says they “just have a cold”
Downplaying everything. Downplaying how sexy it is that their voice is slightly croaky and deeper, that their nose is a little bit pink, they are pale, they have to carry around tissues, they are sleepy because the congestion kept them from sleeping properly, they apologise when they interrupt the conversation with their coughs and sneezes.
I could go on.

okay uhm update soooo... that was rough. i wanted to record a wav but i've been incredibly wiped out by a less-than-48h summer cold... timeline was weird but i want to share
Day 0: "oh my photic sneeze reflex today is really strong haha wth"
Day 2: woke up at 9am, fever having spiked during the night. rolled out of bed, barely managed to eat some toast before going straight back to bed and sleeping again until 5pm. woke up completely fine???
Day 1: started with the sniffles in the morning, very runny nose throughout the day: constantly sniffling, used almost two packets of tissues :/ lots of false starts that made my eyes water as well as actually sneezing A LOT (in triples or more, would get a fit every 10-15 mins, but could not record bc I was at work, boooringgg)... thick stubborn congestion by the afternoon. tried to go for a night out, but got sent home by friends at pre-drinks lol, passed out around 9pm
Today: no lingering congestion, barely sniffling, just needing to blow my nose once in a while

can't tell if it's a summer cold or hayfever but i woke up feeling pretty miserable today :/ descriptions ahead...
I keep getting the tickle to sneeze, but half the time it goes away so my eyes are so watery T-T my nose and my throat are itchy, i have a horrendous sinus headache, my nose is not blocked but it's really really runny yet my voice still sounds rough and congested :( my sneezes (when they actually happen) are so incredibly wet even when stifling...
with my job i can't even run off to the toilet to blow my nose, so i either keep sniffling or have to bite the bullet and blow in front of people :|

i just thought of this headcanon for g/ojo with allergies so i thought id share...
you know how he has his infinity perpetually on? that is probably what protects him from pollen or anything he's allergic to. now we know he turns it off sometimes when he's with his students, with s/hoko and g/eto or with y/aga.
now imagine he forgets it's peak allergy season, turns his infinity off and starts sneezing almost uncontrollably from whatever is in the air, making it harder for his to focus to turn it back on
the strongest? sure, but not against pollen :3

was presenting something to a bunch of people at work and someone had such a strong perfume... i felt like I had to sneeze the tickle in my nose was so strong but it was also stuck. as i presented i kept rubbing my nose with either my knuckle or the back of my finger (embarrassing) hoping for the tickle to go away but it just wouldn't. my eyes were almost tearing up :/
a few people snickered. someone else took pity on me and mentioned that they had to sneeze but couldn't (cutie), i mumbled "same", and they added that something must be in the air.
i rushed through my presentation, still unable to sneeze, still continuing to rub my nose with my knuckle. k*ll me now.
