On this episode of random late night thoughts:
I’m thinking about what textile crafts different members of the QSMP 2 would be and I have come to the conclusion that Ewron is lace making, purely because there is just something about the sound made by vigorously moving the bobbins around that reminds me of him.
HOLY SHIT QSMP PURGATORY IS COMING BACK!!!! I AM SO EXCITED YOU HAVE NO IDEA!!!
I feel like Abbot should be carrying Dr. Mohan’s babies like a seahorse, so she can focus on her residency. I know she’d take very good care of him.
Al-Hashimi was practicing medicine in a war zone with a seizure disorder and you think she can’t handle an emergency department? Be fr.

well good luck to the pitt and their patient satisfaction scores without dr samira mohan. idk what else to say
babe wake up ao3 came up with the only funny april fools joke in the history of the world
The Pitt is just the Emergency Room of doom and despair. I feel like at this point every one who works there considers it an honorary circle of hell!!
Something I find interesting is that McKay seems to be the only person who consistently sees Javadi as a twenty year old girl.
Robby and Garcia and Shamsi and even Trinity look at Javadi and see the prodigy and they don't question how strange it is for her to be there. We see that in their reactions to Javadi making a mistake which is on par with or even smaller than the mistakes made by her peers. They treat her like in every situation, she should already know exactly what to do. It's not treated like a teaching moment like it is for other med students and interns. She fucked up and should have known better.
But McKay from day one sees Javadi and acknowledges how strange it is for her to be so young and where she is. She behaves almost maternally to her because I think Cassie puts in her a category more akin to Harrison than to her peers. She doesnt expect a level of emotional maturity from her that really doesn't make sense from someone that young. Instead, she talks to her. She actually teaches her instead of just assuming she's a prodigy with all the answers and berating her when she doesn't have them.
I'm glad that Javadi has one person in her corner and I will continue to believe that McKay is the most underrated character on the show.
God the most recent episode of the Pitt was crazy! Like, Damn! I didn’t know it was asshole hour in the healing place!!

robby entertained by his daughter while his other daughter has a panic attack (2026, in color)
Dana, Caleb, Whitaker & Abbot at the end of Robby’s shift :
No, because it is that serious. I’m about this close🤏🏼 to jumping through that screen and putting him on a psych hold myself😐
All I want in life is for someone to look at me the way Dr. Jack Abbot looked at that fax machine.
Call me Academia Barbie the way I’m:
-pretty
-fashionable
-want to learn about/work in every humanities or science field under the sun
Right, now that I've come down form the initial high of the episode, I can properly give credit to maybe the funniest thing in the entire episode: just how deeply Jack fucks with Joy's vibe.
Like. Jack is 50 at the oldest. He's at full right to still protest being called old. By modern standards, he's still pretty young despite the gray hair and stressed-ass face. But Joy implicitly calls him fuckin ancient, right, absolutely does that man dirty - one of her most senior attendings, mind you, completely skipping like seven levels of rank decorum - and Jack...smiles and rolls with it. Charting by candlelight.
I dunno, man. Joy has been kinda done dirty via negligence by every authority figure in the Pitt this season (and I say that as someone who loves every character And Ogilvie Is There I Fucking Guess) and spent the first three hours quiet and checked-out, but she clocks Jack Abbot's whole deal instantaneously, roasts the shit out of him with one sentence, and he just loves that shit. This girl is on his wavelength.
I know Joy is leaving for path, but god damn would she thrive on night shift. Her attending would be a complete gremlin just like her.

do you think samira was trying to imitate the interaction she had with abbot in sharing her woes to al-hashimi?
i can't help but be fascinated by samira and her respective relationships with her attendings.
dr. robby, as we know, has a complicated dynamic with samira. sure he sees her value as a doctor but he still underplays and underestimates her. her methodologies — i.e. slowmo — don't align with how he wants her to operate and therefore robby is more hands-off in her tutelage.
al-hashimi is a familiar and trusted advisor to samira. not only does baran seem to selflessly and genuinely care about the residents and students under her, she is also a particular role model (i would surmise) for samira because she is also a poc woman achieving greatness in the medical field.
"i'm so excited you're joining us!"
and then there's jack abbot; who lives in this weird limbo between mentor and peer. and i think he put himself there because he sees her skills, he understands the value of them, and he respects that (and her) immensely. and samira — after their collaborations during the pittfest casualty event — is aware of this distinction.

"we all need a community"
this is advice samira gave to her own patient,,!!
advice which she seems to try and finally follow when she talks to al-hashimi (asking but not asking) what she should do for her fellowship, with her career, with her life.
"i did [have a job lined up in new jersey] to be close to my mom, but um she sold our house to travel the world with her new boyfriend. so what's the point of new jersey?"
HOWEVER, samira doesn't really get the answers she was hoping for (if her expression is anything to go by).
"have you considered a geriatrics fellowship?" "i have not......"
· · ─ ·✶· ─ · · · ─ ·✶· ─ · · · ─ ·✶· ─ · · · ─ ·✶· ─ · ·
and just, the JUXTAPOSITION to one hour ago when samira confessed her frustrations to jack about her capabilities as a doctor and the shortcomings of the healthcare system!!!
"i... i got him everything he needed for home care." "so uber it to his house." "is the hospital gonna pay for that?" "i'll pay for it."
he didn't even really have an answer for her, just supported her and showed that he trusts and respects her instincts. that's all samira really needed needs.
· · ─ ·✶· ─ · · · ─ ·✶· ─ · · · ─ ·✶· ─ · · · ─ ·✶· ─ · ·
i think samira is chasing that high of being known with her other attendings.
but see, the issue is jack made her feel like that not because he's a mentor to her and he's supposed to have all the answers, but because he trusts and believes in her implicitly.
and not in whole as an attending, or even as a doctor. but as a man.
i think samira and jack are hurtling towards another heart to heart before the shift is over. and this latest moment with al-hashimi is just another push for samira in that direction, in jack's direction.

If Mohabbot has 100 fans, I'm one of them.
If Mohabbot has 10 fans, I'm one of them.
If Mohabbot has 100 enemies, I'll fight to the death to defend it.
But if Mohabbot has one fan, thATS SHAWN FUCKING HATOSY.
