C'EST LA VIE

I’m a father of three children. Our family lost our home, our belongings, and the life we had built. I also lost my job as an accountant, and since then I’ve been doing everything I can to keep my children safe and give them hope for a better future.

My children are also suffering from hepatitis because of contaminated water, which has made our situation even more difficult and painful.

“Three qualities, whoever possesses them has perfected his intellect: knowing himself, guarding his tongue, and being content with what Allah has provided him.”

In addition to 15-year-old Nour’s ongoing health issues, Nour’s sister Noha recently developed a severe stomach ulcer due to an infection induced by drinking unsanitary water. This ulcer is causing Noha extreme pain and digestive issues, and if it is not treated very soon, will lead to internal bleeding. This ulcer has gone untreated in order to allot more funds for Nour’s ongoing nebulizer treatments, but it has progressed to the point of literally debilitating pain and serious complications. Let’s raise the cost of treatment ASAP so Nour can continue nebulizer treatments and Noha can live her life again!!

رَحِمَ اللَّهُ عَبْدًا رَزَقَهُ اللَّهُ قُوَّةً فَأَعْمَلَ لِنَفْسِهِ فِي طَاعَةِ اللَّهِ، أَوْ قَصَرَ بِهِ ضَعْفٌ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْ فِي مَعَاصِي اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ

“May Allah have mercy on a servant whom Allah has blessed with strength, so he uses it in obedience to Allah; or if weakness prevents him from doing much, he does not use it in disobedience to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic.”

Ego did. Ignorance did.

A woman spoke up, and Allah revealed an entire chapter of the Qur’an in response.

"Indeed, with hardship comes ease. Indeed, with hardship comes ease." [Surah Ash-Sharh 94 ; 5-6]

This world was never meant to be free from trials. We will be tested with our health, our wealth, our families, our children, and our livelihoods. These tests are not a sign that Allah ﷻ has abandoned us; they are opportunities to draw closer to Him and to raise our ranks.

Every pain we endure, every hardship we face, and every struggle we overcome is known to Allah. While we are being tested, we are also being gifted-with patience, with strength, with forgiveness of sins, and with rewards that only He knows.

Remain steadfast, trust in Allah's plan, and never lose hope.

That his father said, “The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) sent  Mu'adh and Abu Musa to Yemen telling them. 'Treat the people with ease and don’t be hard on them; give them glad tidings and don’t fill them with aversion; and love each other, and don’t differ.”
