Richard is commonly queercoded by actors and directors and has some of the most beautiful speeches in all of Shakespeare (“For God’s sake, let us sit upon the ground / And tell sad stories of the death of kings”) Everyone seems to agree that Richard is pretty queer, though I’ve never seen a production so bold as to have a smooch.
