Despite his short stature this little shit is annoyingly good at placing your coffee at increasingly strange and high up places in the cupboard, heck he might as well hide it away in his office so that you can never fight it

You huff a soft laugh and turn off your phone to give him your full attention. "You okay?" you ask quietly, threading your fingers through his soft hair.

His reply is a grumble as he nuzzles into you. He's still slightly propped up on his arms, worried about crushing you. "You can lay on me, I promise it's okay." you softly reassure him. He hesitantly puts all of his weight on you as you continue to play with his hair.

"Relax, you're home now."

He melts at your soft words. Even after years, he still can't believe he found someone so soft, so caring. He loves you so much that it terrifies him.

He whispers something that sounds awfully close to "I love you" as his breathing evens out for the night.

Which leads to Ajaw getting irritated at Kinich’s very subtle attempts to make you notice him. So he decides to step in and handle this situation himself.

On one random sunny morning in Natlan, you’re strolling through the stalls of the marketplace.

Only to be intercepted by Ajaw. Just Ajaw, no kinich or anyone. Which makes you all the more suspicious of Ajaw and his shenanigans.

“Ajaw? What are you doing here-“

“The great almighty dragon lord, K’uhul Ajaw, has taken time out of his day to meet you! Just to tell you a confession of a man who doesn’t have the balls to do it!”

Ajaw loudly announced in the streets, making heads turn and people stopping to watch. And all you can do is sigh and look at him in confusion.

“This lowly servant of mine, Kinich Malipo, apparently has taken a liking to you and wishes to court you! And for once I don’t have to berate him with insults because he actually chose a proper, suitable mate for him!”

“Ajaw!”

A familiar voice cut through the crowd, interrupting Ajaws embarrassing speech about him. Your head turns to the direction of the voice, which leads you to stand face to face with him. Kinich.

Except instead of his usual nonchalant composure; he looked down to the ground, avoiding eye contact with a huge blush on his face.

You couldn’t help but crack a smile. You slowly approached him before grabbing his hand and leading him somewhere out of the audience’s view.

Hence how you guys ended up dating, all because of his annoying “pet” K’uhul Ajaw.

Venti: 4/10

Venti has very little reason to be jealous, in fact, he kind of enjoys when others come onto you. Finds it funny. Encourages it at times. Sure he is possessive, but that plays into it a bit. He lets it go for a little while, only to come in when the other party thinks they’ve really got a chance and squash them all at once. You will likely not be privy to his annoyance with the other person, because he plays it off so well. However, you can get him pissed off if you lean into the flirting just a bit. In that case, he’ll make it very known to both you and your companion just how taken you are. Best prepare for a long night, my friend :)

Varka: 1/10

Sorry if this disappoints, guy doesn’t care. Most carefree, hands off man in the world. Someone’s flirting with you? Good! You’re fantastic! Really, why wouldn’t he want to share your wonderful smile with the world. Besides, everyone knows you’re the grandmasters partner. Think of it like him showing off, he doesn’t mind it at all so long as you come home with him. Though, sometimes, you’ll hear him admit that it bothers him just a bit. He knows your loyalties, but it’s hard when he has to share your attention sometimes. Just kiss him, his tail will start wagging and he’ll forget why he was upset in the first place.

Lohen: 5/10

He’s a bit of an odd case. On one hand, he has no doubt in his mind that you could do any better than him (egotistical freak). On the other, what’s up with all the testing his boundaries, don’t these people know who you’re with? Kinda stupid if you ask him. I doubt he gets all that jealous often, just annoyed that people are taking up your time when they don’t need to be. It’s not hard for him to scare them off, of course, so he’d never have any reason to do much about it… but still… you’re not on the market. Does he need to tattoo it on your forehead? Maybe a ring would work instead…

Tartaglia/Childe: 7/10

Chalk it up to his lack of emotional maturity, he gets jealous pretty easy, and he makes it well known to you and your little friend. Walks up behind you and makes it very obvious you are an item. A duo. Two peas in a pod. You get it buddy? Go away?? Still, he’s… nice enough about it. There’s a level of decorum he has… a level. It’s best to just pull him away quickly, or else he’ll get a little mean, and we don’t need this dog (fox?) barking do we?

Zhongli: 4/10

It may surprise you to see him be anything over a 2, but I believe old man’s still got it. Of course, he’s fairly chill, and he’s not the type to worry about anything like that too much. But, he does know what a prize you are. You caught the eye of the lord of geo, that little mark on your wrist proves it, you’re special. Others most certainly will agree, so he has to be wary. When he does have to “confront” an issue… he does so, so smoothly, you and the other party hardly realize he’s moved the conversation to another topic. Gramps still got that smoothness.

Kazuha: 2/10

Are we surprised guys. Kazuha wouldn’t bat an eye to any stranger you’re talking to, only gets concerned if they seem aggressive. He’s a gentle soul, and he knows what your relationship is. You can hold your own, and you’ll say no if you need to. You’re not an object to covet, you’re a person. His person. So no need to worry about anything like that. Still… he’s a little more willing to step in than Varka if he feels someone is being too pushy. Checks on you subtly, and watches the interaction with a careful eye. Just in case.

Tighnari: 7/10

You absolutely have to hear me out on him I’m begging. He’s a fairly laid back person, I don’t think he gets jealous often and he doesn’t mind strangers being a little friendly with you or you back to them. However, why I put him so high, is when he does get jealous? He’s insufferable. Blame it on genetics or whatever, but when he gets that itch in the back of his skull, he has to scratch it. Very much a “I’m part of this conversation now and I’m going to remind you about ten times that this is my partner and they’re not interested oh did i tell you this i my partner yet?” kind of guy. Also a little more touchy than usual. It’s embarrassing as hell, but it’s just how he is. You smile and laugh it off, so it can’t be so bad in the end.

Cyno: 4/10

*Points behind me* This guy, amirite? Cyno is less jealous more naturally protective. He always eyes new people around you with caution until he’s sure they’re not a threat to your wellbeing. That being said, the flirting tends to just be dismissed as harmless in his eyes. So what if they’re interested, so was he. He made the move, they didn’t. …They better not. He’ll keep an eye on them just a little longer, to make sure… Yeah, you might have to get this guy to chill a little. He’s (mostly) harmless, but that endless glare freaks everyone around you out.

Kaveh: 10000000000/10

Hates sharing your attention so much, oh my god he’s pathetic. He doesn’t really have much to call his own, but you are his partner, therefore he gets to be a little jealous about the people who approach you. He’s not subtle, though he thinks he is. Sliding up against you, cuddling you into his side with a huffy little glare. It’s so funny, like an angry little rabbit. Don’t tease him, though, he won’t like that. (Alhaitham points it out every time he does it, and every single time it starts a “fight”)

Wriothesley: 6/10

He’s not outward with it, but he gets jealous pretty easily. As the person he is, he feels there are things he can’t provide you with. Sun, being the main one, but among other things. So, when he sees a relatively normal guy with a normal house and a normal job in the regular old city… he gets a little nervous. Of course, you’d never do that to him. But… well… he wouldn’t blame you for wanting a normal life. Just kind of watches the interacting with a patient stare, smiles at you when you’re done. He won’t mention it unless you notice, but he’s honest too. Figures it’s better you know than not. Give him a hug, won’t you…?

Neuvillette: 9/10

Doesn’t clock that he’s jealous, that bothers him more. Unnamed emotion he doesn’t understand haunting him like a goddamn ghost. He just knows he doesn’t like when the secretary touches your shoulder, or when the cafe owner speaks to you in such a soft affectionate voice. Never asserts himself either, just stands by and watches… wondering why he’s so… irritated by the sight. When he finally asks Wriothesley, it bothers him even more to know he is jealous. Jealous of what? You are already his. But, unfortunately, emotion doesn’t like his logic, so he stews in his jealousy quietly until your attention is back on him.

Ifa: 5/10

True Neutral. Does get jealous, doesn’t like to act on it. He’s got a good head on his shoulders, he’s not gonna cause a scene over a little friendliness. Again, he’s the type to sit on the side and watch with a passive expression. Waits for you to come back to him, then he’ll tell you he didn’t really like that person. If they keep you too long, he’ll make himself part of the conversation, but won’t do much else unless they’re touchy or pushy. Pretty relaxed and mature about it, all things considered.

Kinich: 1/10

I don’t think he thinks about it. I mean like, really. I don’t think he cares enough about the other person to really consider them a “threat” of any kind. He might recognize “Hey that’s a weird thing to say,” but if it doesn’t bother you it doesn’t bother him. Usually him just being there is enough to scare the other person off. His stare is intense when paired with his silence. Still, if they’re being too pushy, he’ll just bluntly ask what exactly they’re doing and why. Pretty effective for scaring the rest off.

Flins: 3/10

I think he would find “jealousy” a funny feeling, if he felt it much at all. Very much the type to stand to the side in bemusement of the offender. His eyes crinkle in this creepy way as he does, simply observing with delight as you give them nothing to work with. Of course, as anyone does, he doesn’t like seeing others flirt with you… but you can handle your own. And if you can’t? Don’t worry, Flins is more than able to spook any strangers from your side. All as long as you turn your pretty, praise filled smile his way.

Fefe's sticker note: big shout out to bro named Boah for this great inspo. This is mostly for a friend but i've made it where anyone can insert themselves into the story.

If Lohen was asked about what he'd love about you, it would be your cooking without hesitation.

He'd talk about how beautiful your dishes looked, always carefully plated, warm steam curling into the air, colors arranged like little works of art. Every meal felt made with love and care.

He'd say there was always something exciting about it too, "It has the element of surprise!" Lohen would tell to his fellow knight.

The way his heart raced before taking the first bite. The way his body reacted afterward. There was always that small moment of suspense after swallowing, where he'd quietly wait for whatever came next.

Sometimes his vision blurred. Other times his stomach twists, and his tongue would go numb for a couple of hours.

Lohen would never tell you bluntly that your food tasted horrid despite how good it looked, the last thing he wanted to do was break your heart.

Especially since you found so much joy in cooking.

Looking at it another way, this was also a good opportunity to build up his poison tolerance. If anything, this was just efficient training.

One time, when Lohen was out on duty, he felt absolutely famished after clearing out several hilichurl camps. So, logically, he sat down on a nearby rock and opened the container of leftover soup that you had lovingly packed for him.

Before he could even take a bite, though, a boar suddenly jumped out of nowhere and knocked over his lunch. It seemed he was not the only one hungry, as the animal immediately began digging in.

"Hey— that was my lunch." Lohen muttered, more offended than alarmed.

After a few seconds, however, Lohen slowly raised an eyebrow when the boar suddenly paused. The last thing he heard from it was a faint little "oink" before it collapsed onto its side, unconscious.

Thanks to what he had just witnessed, Lohen now secretly dips his dagger into any soup you made before testing the side effects on any poor slimes he happens to pass by.

"It's ready!" you announced happily as you walked into the dining room, carefully carrying a large bowl of pasta.

When you heard that Lohen was inviting a few of his co-workers over, you were delighted. You had eagerly agreed when he asked if you could cook something for them. After all, it wasn't every day that you got the chance to share your cooking with new people.

The moment you set the bowl down on the table, the rich aroma drifted through the room. The pasta looked delicious, coated in a glossy sauce and garnished with fresh herbs that made it look almost restaurant worthy.

"I can't wait to taste the food, i'm starving!" Varka exclaimed, rubbing his hands together as he stared at the delicious looking pasta.

"It looks good. I can see why Lohen eats your cooking so often," Kaeya remarked as he reached for the serving spoon and scooped a generous portion onto his plate.

You practically beamed at their words. It seemed all the effort you had put into preparing the meal was already paying off.

Meanwhile, Lohen was already digging into his own plate, happily twirling another forkful of pasta before taking a bite.

Seeing how enthusiastically Lohen was enjoying the meal, The two didn't hesitate any longer to twirl a forkful of pasta and popping it into their mouths.

The smile on Varka's face vanished instantly.

Kaeya's eye widened by the slightest fraction before he quickly regained his composure.

The pasta was somehow both overwhelmingly salty and strangely sweet. Several flavors crashed together in a way that should have been impossible.

Varka wasn't sure whether to chew faster or slower, and Kaeya wasn't sure if drinking wine would help or make it worse.

For a brief moment, both of them considered their options in complete silence.

Swallow and survive. Or chew forever and never recover.

"Well?" you asked eagerly, leaning forward slightly. "How is it?"

Varka’s throat bobbed as he forced the bite down with visible effort, his smile tightening like a strained knot.

"It’s.." he began, then paused, as if searching for a version of the truth that wouldn’t ruin anyone’s life. "Distinctive."

Kaeya chewed once more, very slowly, as if giving himself time to decide whether honesty would be worth the consequences.

Then he swallowed. Immediately after, he reached for his wine and took a slow, deliberate sip.

"..It’s not my favorite," he said once the wine had done its job of softening the memory of the taste. "But I’ll finish it."

Varka let out a careful breath, "Right— Yes," he agreed quickly. "That's.. the spirit of it."

He immediately followed up with another bite, as though speed might lessen the experience.

It did not.

"That’s so nice of you both!" you said warmly. "I was worried it might be too different this time."

"Are you kidding? This is better than last time you cooked pasta! I say you're improving." Lohen boasted as he kept eating, completely unbothered as another forkful disappeared.

Kaeya stared at deranged vice captain for a second, then slowly lifted his glass again, choosing silence over whatever comment was forming in his head.

Varka, after a brief pause, simply continued eating with the calm determination of who had decided questions were unnecessary as long as the plate kept getting lighter.

The table settled back into motion, while Lohen remained entirely pleased with himself, and you took their reactions as the highest praise.
