Helping Lohen With His Injury!
sooo i've never written a fanfic before so this is a first, but for some reason I was randomly inspired so I just wrote whatever. There's probably grammar mistakes and stuff because this isn't proofread but I wanted to share anyway. quick one shot, nothing too long ________________________________________________________________ summary: lohen comes to you to help him with cleaning his wound (that's pretty much it!) sfw, reader is a bartender at cat's tail, established relationship, mentions of injury (not anything too crazy), mentions of blood once or twice, slight teasing and banter, slightly implied of nsfw acts like once, bun pet name used once as inspiration from other fics i've seen

You really don’t know why he chooses to bother you at work like this when you know he definitely has a lot of his own to do.
“Can’t you just sneak me a bottle, surely Margaret won’t notice!” Lohen said with a smile that was way too suspicious to be seen as a genuine one, his gaze slightly shifting between you and the bottles on the shelf behind you.
You raise an eyebrow at him and place your hands on your hips while shifting your balance to the side. “You don’t even drink Lohen, why are you trying to get me to steal from my job.” “I wouldn’t call it stealing per se, just borrowing it for a short while. No ill intentions, honestly!” Lohen brings his left hand to his heart, showcasing a chivalrous attitude. If it weren’t for the fact you know exactly how he thinks, you probably would’ve fallen for that charming act of his. But unfortunately for him, you do know how he thinks. You've been together for a while after all. You furrow your brows slightly, “What do you need it for.” “Spontaneous wine tasting?”
“Lohen.”
“Alright alright,” he sighs. “Don’t freak out alright?.” He lifts his shirt to reveal his side covered in bandages that seemed to be applied in a rush. You could tell this was probably his own work as a temporary fix to whatever is lying beneath them. A faint outline of the wound appearing from blood slightly seeping through. You gasp slightly and soften your eyes, the accusing look changing to a softer one. “What happened?” you ask while walking from behind the bar to in front of him. “Ambushed a Fatui camp. Everything was going smoothly until one of the bastards managed to get a hit on me.” You lower yourself so you are able to examine his injury. His eyes follow your movements as you begin to undo the bandages gently, being careful not to hurt him. Although he probably wouldn’t complain if you did. “So this is what you needed the alcohol for,” you say while unwrapping the last of the bandages, revealing a deep cut. “I know you like a good fight but you need to be careful.” You look up at him. “This cut goes pretty deep.”
He laughs a little. “It looks worse than it feels, trust me,” he winks at you. You slightly roll your eyes. Even after being together for so long you still don’t understand how injuries like this barely phase him. He rushes into battles so often it’s almost as if he is just desensitized by it now.
“I’ll make an exception this one time.” You sigh in defeat. Raising yourself again to walk back behind the bar to find the purest alcohol on the shelf. Your eyes scan the bottles for a short while until they fall on one on the bottom shelf.
You remembered this bottle. Someone once ordered a glass of it to sip on throughout the night and complained that the alcohol was too strong to drink and burned especially bad going down. Margaret tried a sip of it and made a face that could only be described as pure disgust and slight pain. and put the bottle on the bottom shelf where it could hopefully never see the light of day again. If it had been laying there for this long untouched… surely Margaret wouldn’t mind if you “borrowed” it just this once, right?
…
Lohen inhales sharply as you dab the alcohol soaked cloth along the gash. You’re trying to be as gentle as you can but considering the size of this thing… honestly why did he come to you for this.
“You do realize the knights have medics, right?” You look up at him with a troubled expression just to be met with a soft smile. He seems to be enjoying this, although you can’t tell if it’s because of the fact that it’s you cleaning his wound or if it’s the sting from the alcohol.
“I know. I wanted you to help me.” “I am still technically at work you know.”
“There’s no one here, it’s not like I’m interrupting anything.” He was right. The Cat’s Tail is pretty quiet during the afternoon. There aren’t too many day drinkers in Mondstadt and if there are any, they all go to Angel’s Share instead. You sigh as you continue cleaning his wound.
He watches you in silence, the soft smile still on his face. Of course he knows he could go to the medics at Favonius headquarters. But with how gentle you are with him, how you show you clearly care, how beautiful you look with the subtle concentration shown by your lips pursing together, how could he not come to you instead. “You’re staring.” You break the silence, stopping your work to look up at him once again.
“Admiring how concentrated you are. Kinda reminds me of how you look when you’re about to c-” Lohen doesn’t finish his sentence, instead being interrupted by a sudden sharp sting which brings out a groan. You had applied alcohol to his wound again.
“Quit it.” You say, heat slowly creeping up your face as you frown at him.
“I didn’t say it was a bad thing, I enjoy that expression you know.” He smiles slyly, half-lidded eyes looking down at you. “You’re impossible.” You laugh. You go back to concentrating on cleaning his wound again. The bleeding had mostly stopped and it seemed like it should be good to bandage up again. You set the cloth and alcohol down. “Alright,” you breathe out, standing up. “I just need bandages to wrap this up… I’m not sure where Margaret keeps them though.” “No worries, I brought some with me. I only asked you to provide the alcohol, not the bandages.” He reaches in his inner coat pocket and brings out a roll of bandages, placing them in your hands.
“Thank you.” You bend back down and begin wrapping the cleaned wound, making sure to have it apply some pressure to help prevent continuous bleeding. “I think you’re good to go,” you raise yourself again. “But I really wish you had gone to the knights instead. I’m not a medic.” You frown slightly. “I’m not even sure if this alcohol can be used for medical purposes.” “I’m sure you did great, Bun. The cut isn’t that bad anyway, I’m sure even Klee could take care of it just fine.” Lohen gives you an encouraging smile as he places his hands on your waist, bringing you closer to him.
“Isn’t that bad?” You raise an eyebrow at him. “That was big and deep. Even calling it a cut seems diminishing.” You smile back at him, wrapping your arms around his neck. Your hands reach his hair and start playing with it. “But I guess that didn’t bother you too much hm?” You tilt your head slightly. Lohen laughs and presses his lips against yours, kissing you gently . You return it, smiling against his lips. He moves from your lips to pressing soft kisses along your jaw, moving down to your neck. You tilt your head to give him more access on impulse, but quickly tap his shoulder in retaliation. “Lohen, I’m still working. What if someone comes in? And don’t you have your own work to do? You were complaining about the mountains of paperwork just yesterday.”
He freezes at the mention of paperwork and pulls away from your neck placing one last kiss on your lips. “Way to ruin the moment.” He fake mocks you while rolling his eyes playfully. This earns him a slight slap on the arm from you which he laughs at. “I’ll be here when your shift is done. We'll go home together.” You smile. “I’d like that.”
