I think overall he probably wouldn’t have any interest in picking up an instrument 😭😭 but! his parents from what we know were pretty overbearing and expected him to conform to what they wanted for him, so I think if nothing else he may have learned one as a kid! maybe something traditional like violin or piano (or much more likely the lyre bc. mondstadt lol)

The beaches of Natlan are quiet at night.

Cool ocean waters lap gently at your ankles where you stand in the surf, salt lingering on your skin every time the waves recede. Were the evening air any colder, you'd likely be shivering from the sensation.

"Thought I'd find you here."

Kinich's voice pulls you from your thoughts, as gentle and steady as his hands are as they settle onto your waist. You hadn't heard him approach— usually, his arrival is followed by his Saurian companion's grating voice demanding all those listening to kneel and worship. You decide to treat the silence as a welcome reprieve.

"Were you looking for me?" You ask, turning around to face him. His hair is a little messy from the wind, likely from swinging straight over here and not bothering to fix it. It feels natural to reach up and take care of the task for him, running your fingers lazily through the slight tangles.

"Yes. I missed you," Kinich, as always, is straight to the point. You'd be more amused by his honesty if you weren't already so used to it. His eyes flit to your lips when you smile, and the want in his eyes is suddenly so intense that it's nearly tangible. "And…"

"You didn't kiss me this morning. When I left." His words are mumbled just a breath away from your lips, the words thoughtless and almost a little bit pouty. Despite the proximity, the gap between you still feels far too wide.

"That's because Ajaw was being annoying."

"Ajaw isn't here right now. You still owe me."

And with that, Kinich closes that tiny distance between you to collect his debt— and for once, the only sound you hear afterwards is the continued song of ocean waves.

In the evening, the Knights of Favonius library is bathed in a golden light.

It settles over every shelf like a dreamy mist, each embossed book spine shimmering and reflecting the setting sun's glow. The whole world looks as if its been gently taken apart and then restructured in paint, made complete in the hands of some unseen artist laboring away to build something beautiful.

Were your life devoid of any other responsibility, you can't help but think about how much more time you'd spend here.

A soft puff of breath interrupts you from your idle musings, and you glance over to your side where your lover dozes peacefully beside you. Despite your insistence that he didn't need to accompany you, he decided on tagging along to enjoy your company (or pester you) for just a bit longer. Though— he had promptly grown bored and found a thick book to rest his head on before slipping off into dreamland while you continued to read.

His face is now cast in that rich shining light from the windows, illuminating the bridge of his nose and the gentle slope of his cheekbone. The sun's glow lays upon him gently, streaking his face in golden paint and warming his skin like a soft flame. The sight warms your own heart just as thoroughly— it's a rare sight to see Lohen so utterly relaxed, after all.

As if he senses your gaze upon him, Lohen flutters one eye open.

"Enjoying the view?" His voice is raspy from sleep, pleasant and tender and just soft enough to not shatter the delicate atmosphere.

"Maybe," Your eyes return to the book in your hand, though the words suddenly seem a bit flat after spending so long tracing the lines of Lohen's face. "That a problem?"

"Nope. Stare aaaall you want, pretty." Lohen's words are a little slurred as his eye slides shut again, leaving you once more in the comfortable silence.

i think overall i def associate Lohen with springtime the most! partially bc, like you said, dornman port being so springy with the flower fields and greeny! but also because spring is the time for rebirth! Everything that survived the winter blooms again like a show of strength despite how terrible things have been, and Lohen himself has come a very long way in life (esp. following his story quest) and I think partially I just associate him with that kind of change and overcoming hardship. Also, because of the temperature change (but maybe its just bc of where I live), spring still comes with a lot of storms and rain and hardship that can cause a lot of problems despite how beautiful the season initially seems hehe which mirrors lohen in my mind bc u would never expect a knight to be the way that he is

i can see lohen suddenly becoming very insistent on seeing a healer after any injury (despite the fact he never needed one before) so that he can go see his s/o, feeling your hands on him as you treat him,,, he eats up that personal attention both before and after getting together lol ^^ fortunately lohen is anything BUT a people pleaser so he'd probably act as a buffer if he thought someone wasn't treating you with enough respect lol and that guy,,, is kinda scary. so i cant imagine a lot of people would want to take advantage of your need to please everyone when he's around with that creepy little smile of his

he'd be. much less fond of the self sacrificing bit tho. lohen has been through a lot, and in his story quest we can see that he kind of freezes up when someone he loves is injured/unwell,,,,,, and ESPECIALLY after the loss of adorno, he'd be very protective of the people closest to him (and probably blame himself a LOT if you ever got seriously hurt bc he thinks that he should've stopped it/been there/been reliable enough that you didnt feel the need to be so self-sacrificial)

"Would you like to have dinner with me?"

Ever since things in Nod Krai had calmed down, Columbina has been much more enthusiastic about exploring the world outside of the secluded Silvermoon Hall. You've seen her floating around Nasha Town more than once, now— sometimes wandering as far as Piramida when she gets curious.

Still… you hadn't expected her to show up at your door unannounced, a cutesy little box of pastries in hand. She holds the box towards you like an offering, her usual passive smile growing softer and more personable in the fading evening light.

Now, you sit on the beaches of Hiisi island, watching the moon just begin to peek over the horizon. Theres a plethora of different sweets littered around the blanket (that had been mysteriously laid out before your arrival), as well as a sweet herbal tea with a hint of lemony aftertaste. At this point, you were beginning to grow concerned that you'd forgotten some kind of special event that was cause for such a pleasant get-together.

"So… what's the occasion?" You ask curiously, the light sweetness of the tea lingering on your tongue. Columbina glances up as you speak, and you can feel the full weight of her attention weighing down on you even while her eyes remain shut. "This seems kind of like it was planned in advance…"

"I was told," Columbina presses her fork to her mouth, picking at her dessert with an uncharacteristic slowness. It felt almost as if she were attempting to savor more than just the taste of the cake. "That when you like someone, you're supposed to take them out to eat somewhere nice."

You stare at her.

"Oh my god, this is a date."

"Oh, Is that what they call it?"

Lohen didn't usually consider himself to be so petty.

He was confident in your relationship— and really, he had complete trust in you!

But this cat that you had brought home… was really testing its luck.

It hadn't been so bad at first. You'd lounge around next to the thing casually, cooing and petting it until it got fed up and pranced away. Every now and then it would hop up onto the couch next to the two of you while Lohen dozed, tiny paws pressing into his back as it climbed over his body to reach you— But Lohen hadn't minded! He had been mature and patient and refused to voice even a single word of complaint even when you turned to give some attention to the cat instead of giving all of it to your lover.

But today,the beast had gone too far.

It had been a long day. It was grueling and full of nothing but paperwork, paperwork, and more paperwork. Lohen's back ached, his head hurt, and he had already cleared out all of the area's hilichurl camps weeks ago, so there wasn't even anywhere for him to go let out his frustrations on. The only thing he wanted to do now was curl up in bed with you while you comb a hand through his hair in that soothing way you always do…

Only to find that even such simple comfort had been stolen from him as well.

You sit so prettily on the bed, book in hand and a fondness in your eyes when Lohen stumbles through the door— but curled up on your lap was that wretched cat. Right in Lohen's favorite spot on your thighs. As if it yearned to add insult to injury, the cat even gave a dramatic little stretch and tucked its nose right into the plush of your stomach as soon as he walks in.

"Lohen, welcome home!" You greet, clearly unbothered by the little usurper. "Long day? You seem tired."

Lohen only stares at you, face twisted into something unpleasant. Then, he's crossing the room in two quick strides to scoop the cat up and deposit it onto the floor without any further hesitation. In the next motion he's dropping on top of you like a ragdoll, his arms coming up underneath your thighs to prevent you from moving away even an inch. You laugh at his actions, and suddenly the weight of the day is lifted from his shoulders like it was never there in the first place.

"Are you seriously jealous over a cat?"

Lohen doesn't answer, only pressing his face into your stomach insistently. From the corner of his eye, he sees the cat pacing indignantly in little circles around the foot of the bed. The sight sent glee rushing through Lohen's body, as if he had won a hard-fought victory over the poor animal.

Maybe he was a little petty, after all.
