IMO there's layers to the wreck of Hitomi and Hitch's relationship, or lackthereof. They exist primarily to be eroticized more than either is romanticized, given so much emphasis is placed on sexual traits Salem finds desirable. The difference between their treatment depends on which one Salem personally projects onto (Hitch), and which he idealizes as a sexual encounter. Hitch is objectified by Hitomi as a pussy because Salem cannot conceive of Hitch as anything more than a bottom, given the ways he associates femininity as receptive/passive/submissive. Contrastingly, Hitomi is objectified by Salem as a top and/or dom, given she is butch and has "masc" traits (a penis). Their designations as prey and predator further reinforce the stereotypes of their dynamic. I recall that Salem has said in a one-off skeet that Hitch tops Hitomi, but the weight of evidence in terms of his artwork and posting is in favour of objectified bottom pussyboy Hitch and comptop trans woman Hitomi. It's all steeped in racism, misogyny and toxic heteronormativity... so about what one would expect of Salem's creative ability.

Salem's new art depicting his truesona in "earthy" aesthetics has me genuinely stunned as someone who is both AA and African and dabbles in earthy-boho styles (one of my parents is an African immigrant). I don't have all the proper terminology to say this, but it reeks heavily of indigenous and tribal exoticism towards Africans and isn't even anyways CLOSE to AA or even AA pan-Africanist boho-earthy aesthetics that incorporate elements of differing African textiles and jewelry. It literally feels like he's heralded himself as this "pro-black pan-African" so hard that he's wrapped back around to exoticizing and mystifying REAL African culture to fulfil this fantasy of being a proud Black-American who is connected to his roots pre-slave trade. Like it's so laughably offensive and is made to appeal to his white sex-addicted fanbase who will glaze this overly offensive depiction of aesthetics that more embody this fetishized ideal of African tribes and their aesthetics because he's tired of just using his Black-American identity to hook his fanbase. It's literally, genuinely so racist and on par with his orientalism "KungFu Revvy" stuff. I can't even conceptualize why he thought that drawing was a good idea when it's so racially and culturally insensitive.

It honestly doesn't matter that Salem has gotten better at drawing technically, because none of his stuff has a single iota of charm or personality anymore.

I just personally find it funny that Salem shits on white people constantly. When a majority of his audience and those who pay for his livelihood are white/non-black.
