New Carlos photos at Los Premios de Girona. I think it is the Australian Open's jacket, right ? :)
Beautiful photo below as well. β¨οΈπ«
I like how his hair is styled on the sideline here.
Since the beginning of his recovery, we saw him several times. A nice gift to be honest :)
carlos answers to the interview today β¦ heβs matured so much
β βToday weβve been hearing people talk about research, innovation, explorationβ¦ You revolutionized tennis at a very young age. What do you think is behind that ability to keep improving constantly?β
π£οΈ Carlos: βWell, I think itβs the desire to learn. When you realize thereβs still so much for you to improve, so much for you to learn, in my case, in the world of tennisβ¦ in the end youβre competing against players who also want to improve in order to beat you, who want to put themselves in the best possible position. And thatβs what motivates you, or at least what motivates me, to keep improving, to keep up with the level of tennis and also keep up with the rate at which my rivals are improving.β
β βIn elite sport, just like in science and entrepreneurship, a very important part is knowing how to push beyond your own limits. So my question is: what values have been most important in helping you develop that throughout your journey?β
π£οΈ βI think consistency. Day-to-day consistency, trying to give your best every single day.
βIn the end, people probably see the matches, the tournaments, the victories and defeats, but you also have to place a lot of value on what happens behind the scenes: the work you put in every day.
βI think thatβs the most important thing: going every day, in my case, to the tennis court or the gym with tremendous excitement about trying to give the best of myself, trying to improve so that later it shows on the court.
βThat consistency of taking things day by day, of trying to control everything necessary to be in the best possible condition when itβs time to compete - thatβs what motivates me. And itβs what I value most now in the position Iβm in. Iβm grateful to the version of myself from six or seven years ago for having done everything possible every single day.β
β βPeople see the trophies and the victories, but they donβt see the work behind them because itβs invisible. What advice would you give to young people, and to all of us, about discipline and consistency, so we can understand how someone like you keeps going?β
π£οΈ βAbove all, patience.
βWhen I was 14 years old, I had zero patience. I wanted things overnight. I wanted results immediately. Personally, I hate losing at anything, even back there. So I always wanted to win, I wanted everything to work out perfectly, I wanted things to go exactly right. But I think what Iβd tell young people is to have patience.
βThe beautiful thing is the process. Itβs the journey. Itβs going to a competition or doing something that truly fills you with pride and then seeing that it doesnβt work out.
βYou fail but what matters is how you get back up, how you come back the next day and try again.
βThatβs the beautiful part, and thatβs the advice Iβd give to young people: be patient, enjoy the journey, enjoy what youβre doing, because one day youβll look back, value it, and feel proud of it.β

It is stuck with me "When I return" = legendary day
"Cuando tenΓa 14 aΓ±os, siempre querΓa ganar y que las cosas funcionaran. A los jΓ³venes les dirΓa que tengan paciencia, que lo bonito es el proceso y el camino, ver que fallas y volver a intentarlo."

It has already become legendary.

He made the British speak Spanish, just saying.
when carlos withdrew from barcelona (and then madrid) there were a lot of people saying he was faking it because he wasn't interested in playing those tournaments (absolutely absurd and infuriating, I know)
