It’s companion sculpture was “Stellar Energy“ and were created by Ulric Ellerhusen.

#i dont have a source for this but i know the order of leibowitz was the inspo for the bos #i still have the last story to read but i really enjoyed the first 2 #and honestly it had such a unique take on post apocalyptic worlds and i think classic fallout was heading that direction as well #it's a bit dense to read tho like idk sometimes i struggle reading older books bc of the writing style #unless it's vonnegut or something lmao #anyways #misc

fallout 1 immediately set the tone not only for itself but for the entire series when the first thing you see is a news report that says “our dedicated boys keep the peace in newly annexed canada” and then cuts to footage of a solider in power armor executing a civilian while another soldier laughs and then it cuts to an american flag with BUY WAR BONDS superimposed over the image

actually no i can probably broaden my thesis to almost all fallout factions: i feel the incompetence and ridiculousness of almost all fo factions like the ncr, the enclave and the legion are completely essential to making fallout feel like fallout, y'know. like making them like unironically cool or functional loses fallout's satirical edge to me, ykwim?

like i feel whenever people try to make the enclave come back or make it like this super badass villian i feel theyre missing the point like they're the same dudes that lost most of their men + their president because they thought hiding out in a highly explodable oil rig was a good idea
