“Do you ever wonder if it might just never work out?” Miri asks Wanda. She didn’t have a very long romantic history–a boyfriend she’d only kissed once before she broke up with him, a couple hook-ups, and Cassie– but she did wonder, seeing others falling in love, if she was just falling behind.

“Thanos is a punk bitch.” Carol deadpanned. “Fought the guy multiple times, beat him multiple times. Mad Titan, my ass.”

“I just sent out grades….so you know what this means? There’s about a 5 minute delay until I get emails complaining about them.”

she stops shrinking as wanda talks, focusing on the words enough to halt her body’s reaction to her feelings at the moment, “we told my mom I’m alive,” her voice is dull, and she figures if anyone could help, maybe it’s the woman who brought her dad back, “she didn’t take me still being a hero well. told me to leave.” and sure enough, she begins to shrink once more.

“Well being a father brings up something I’ve wanted to tell you. It probably won’t be for a while yet, but Teddy and I agreed that someday we’d like to have kids. Not soon, but like someday.”

“I-I’ll be fine,” which was absolutely not the case as the now-three-foot-tall girl sat on the roof of the building, her knees pulled up to her chin, staring off as sadness radiated from her. she slowly kept shrinking, “nothin’ to see here,” she’s quiet, and her normal perkiness is gone as her mind takes over and the feeling of being small translates quite literally.

“Oh Mum.” Miri laughs, shaking her head. “I can’t believe it either. Maybe everyone was a bit worried about correcting you.” Either as Scarlet Witch or as a teacher. But being her mum, Miri could laugh. “So you know now right?”

“I can understand that. If you ever want to talk about it I’ll listen you know.” Billy loves his grandfather, but he also knows that no one was perfect. Especially not Erik, and it was important to know family history. He was old enough for that right?

“well trust me when i say you have to. it…” she pauses for a second, a smile coming to her face as her mind travels to her unexpected fun with clint lately, “it’s very nice. and besides, the chill is meant to relax you after all,” she allows a moment of her brow wiggling, “hey, we’re almost 50 and we’re fabulous. Don’t feel shame about age, that’s so… patriarchal Wanda,” she proclaims, tossing green tresses behind her back.
