truthfully, cassie lang just should have stayed inside to study today, but the tease of the bright warm spring sun was just too much. sure, the water balloon fight was a little distracting, but from their distance under their nice tree, it was fine. that is, until they heard an angry shout and went on full alert. the young hero wasted no time, leaving their books and bag behind as they stood up, “hey, shirtless jerk!” as they shout, stepping forward with a hard look, they grow. from their normal 5′2′’, cassie lang grows to around 20 feet tall striding until they’re glaring down at the man that yelled at kids, “you won’t do a THING while i’m around,” they pause, making no move to attack, simply standing, a very large person, in front of him, “you okay there champ?”

if there was one thing cassie was feeling lately, it was unsure. there was the standard confusion that the young hero had accepted was part of life since coming back from the dead. things never really stopped being confusing. but this was different, and cassie didn’t know how to fix it. in fact, they barely knew how to get in touch with gerry at the moment, but it didn’t mean they wouldn’t try. when he opened the door, their smile perked up: nervous but hopeful. they clutch finding nemo in front of this chest ( which they by chance had in their bag halfway through walking to his door-- but it’s not like he needed to know this wasn’t planned ) “that’s okay. i can go, but i’m going through disney withdrawals,” cassie was quiet, though a little smile peeked through hoping he wouldn’t shut the door or something.

“whatcha workin’ on?” the brunette questioned, a mischievous grin spreading across his face as he took a seat across from his friend. with the school year drawing to a close, most of the students were focused on finishing projects and studying for exams. but benjamin had figured out that if he wasn’t prepared by now, no amount of studying would change that- so he had turned his focus elsewhere. unfortunately- he’d started to grow bored, prompting him to set out in search of fun. “doesn’t matter- i need you to come with me,” he stated, not bothering to give her time to answer his question, nor to protest. what he had in mind would be far more fun than studying. @sting-likea-stinger

“well, it’s actually gunna be super cool. me and hank have been working together and-- oh,” of course, they’re not too surprised, cassie’s rather used to people not being too interested in the deeper experiments cooking in their brain. of course, as he continues, cassie closes the notebook with all their Stinger plans and gives their attention to their friend, “alright, lead the way, maybe explain while we’re walking?” the young hero asks, following close behind.

“gotta stop caring ‘bout things being weird.” it’s not the BEST advice he’d ever given, but then again - it wasn’t like he had much to live up to, there. besides… there was, he thought, at least SOME applicable logic to his point. “look at the avengers : the whole team’s weird. we got, what - a greasy ex winter soldier, big green, the living embodiment of the fourth of july… various others.” it was hard to keep track of the exact lineup on the best of days. “weird’s… relative. you gotta let that go.” 

cassie shot a quick apologetic smile at the stranger after grabbing their tea-- turning and hurrying towards the cup stoppers and avoiding further eye contact, “i made it weirder asking how to make not weird,” they groan a little, but clint pulls a laugh out easily, “okay, you got the bug person,” they can’t help the giggle that comes out, “yeah that’s really hard when you’re my age,” and even harder when your mind is younger than your body, even just by a few years at this age. cassie shoots a cheeky smile at clint, “did my dad give you that advice? did it come from the dad handbook or something,” of course, the smile is filled with a special affection for their former teammate, along with the little elbow bump they throw in.

“i suppose the sooner we get started, the sooner we can finish.” there were better things that she could have been doing. romy was especially partial to the idea of spending time with her newly resurrected son, and hadn’t felt entirely positively towards the people who had decided the townspeople, as a whole, needed to join together and make paragon habitable, once again. still. it wasn’t ideal - but at least they weren’t stuck with the WORST of the jobs. trash picking was right down there, but their role in helping clean up some of the jobs that had been mussed during the storm was… not so bad. “i’m ramona, by the way. i don’t believe we’ve had the pleasure - and we might as well be on a first name basis, if we’re stuck here together for any amount of time.” 

unlike their partner, cassie was EXCITED to help the town after the storm. it was things like this that had them in their element. so they showed up ready to go in a bodysuit laced with pym particles, ensuring cassie could grow as much as necessary for the big tasks. with a big grin and a wave, cassie’s enthusiasm is apparent, “i’m cassie! don’t worry, i don’t mind having enough excitement for both of us,” they shrug happily, because it’s true. cassie is also very used to being around people that one may classify as grumpy. the jury was still out on ramona though, “it’s not so bad, you got a size changer with you,” cassie shoots the woman a wink before focusing on the building in front of them, a large branch sticking out of the roof, “which, I know we’re supposed to wait for the calvary, but like.... you wanna just go for it?”

“Need a hand, Cass?” Kate asked. Team ups between the two were nothing out the ordinary for them, and they were more than welcome tonight. Even as she spoke, she could not stay still, instead bouncing. “Fighting some crime would do me some good right now.”

“always,” cassie says without even thinking, smiling with relief at kate, “i can’t... do anything,” they huff in frustration, lowering their voice, “stuck in one size. feeling pretty useless. i want to figure out what’s going on, does that count?” a mischievous smirk comes over their face.

        with her towering figure,    loriel could quite literally walk above the chaos with no one to attempt her. perhaps it was the height,  or more likely the broad sword she was trailing behind her.   unusually, the big friendly giant was heavily guarded, suspicious, and prone to threatening others.    in an elegant movement she swung the sword around,   letting it chose the target for interrogation,   ‘ you // @sting-likea-stinger .    you seem smart,    do you know whats going on here ? ‘

Tommy had already long ditched the library and started roaming the halls aimlessly causing minor property damage along the way as needed to keep himself from blowing this whole place to smithereens when he literally ran into Cassie, crashing right into his long time friend. He almost swings at them on pure instinct before he realizes who it is. Then his anger takes on a much different form as he grabs their arm and shouts at them, “What the fuck do you think you’re doing out here? Are you trying to get yourself killed again?”

“woah! I was trying to find you, and the rest of the team. I wasn’t doing to leave the actual building,” they look at him in confusion, looking him over to assure he’s alright, “what’s wrong, are you okay tommy?”
