Last week, oomf notified me that a random shopee shop is selling a keychain using my art.

I did some searching because that shop seems to have originated in shopee vn, and I found even more of my stuff being stolen there 💀 These are the ones I found; there may be more. The shop is full of scraped products anyway ┐(´ー｀)┌

Kirisaki (切り先 / 切崎) means “to cut” or “something that cuts.” One of the well-known nicknames that comes with this word is Kirisaki Jakku (切り裂きジャック) which is “Jack the Ripper” in Japanese.

Jiro’s last name “Kirisaki” (桐崎) is written differently as a name, but its pronunciation doesn’t change. So when you say Kirisaki Jiro (桐崎次郎), it sounds the same as Kirisaki Jack (切り裂きジャック)

In other words: Kirisaki Jiro = Jiro the Ripper

It doesn’t end here. His artifact is a chainsaw, which you know, cuts. He is one of the suspects in the murder of One Eyed Sleeping Beauty.

I don’t believe all of this is mere coincidence, because on October 13, 1888 the newspaper like The Illustrated London News published prominent reports and illustrations of the local Whitechapel Vigilance Committee. Jiro’s birthday falls on October 13th. This exact date is immediately seen in the Wikipedia page of Jack the Ripper (Japanese or no)

and i did a bit of research, the island itself is called 第六台場 (Dairoku Daiba) and it's restricted to the public. Apparently it used to be an island to launch cannons to incoming ships because the Edo government got cautious when Perry came, and it's restricted because it's home to various wildlife and the buildings are weathered and has a danger of collapsing. essentially, no one is allowed to enter, and there is no way to get in or out. (no boat rides, no bridges)
