"You know, they could just make half of this stuff." Wroat bustled quietly below them. Even with the sudden ability to drive this specific airship, it was terrifying to land an airship.

"Yes, they can, but we don't know what kind of strain that puts on them. The platinum piece was enough. Now, can I land?" The changeling rolled her eyes, but left the half-elf to land.

In a quiet part of the ship, Triage thunks his head against the wood. "We might as well be a roaming orphanage..." In another part of the ship, their newest party addition was annoying Ash, the ranger's weasel causing Cloud to laugh, and Triage felt a migraine come on. "I'm too young for this shit."

Week 1 - The Beginning

On a stolen airship, leaving Sharn, three people gather around a box. A box shuffled between the hands of House Orion, the Tyrants' of Sharn's underground, and a cult of dreams. The contents of the box were a surprise to two of them.

A child, unlike any changling anyone has seen before, and a scroll.

As the ship sails through the air, one of the three sits at the desk. A worn notebook slides into his hands from the endless bag. He begins to write, ignoring the fact this page will be lost to the bag after.

It was not supposed to be a child. I wouldn't have delivered a child to anyone had I known the contents of that damned box. Let alone a magical child wanted by a cult. Who's even heard of the Dreaming Dark before?! And here I thought Atur was bad about cults. When I arrived in Sharn, I knew the risks of taking jobs in the lower part of town, but this is levels of fucked I had previously unheard of.

I wonder how the two we left in Sharn are holding up. Hendriks turning out to be a Sharnwatch captain was certainly a surprise. Especially when he jumped off the side. Writing to cement this in my head, but if I'm going to jump off an airship, I should do it in Sharn. I can't even remember that other girl's name either. Maybe she would have been startled to know there was a child in the box. That the mechanical monster we fought was for a child.

I have a feeling I'm going to be traveling with this Kira for a while. At least until we get this young thing somewhere safe. Ash, I think her name is, has an idea to take her to some woods where no one comes back out of when they go in. I'd be worried if I wasn't curious, and convinced this kid could just teleport me back to Karrnath in an instant if I asked. Not like there's much out here for me anyways, and being an adoptive dad of a weird magical kid wouldn't be the worst fate.

Truly, things could be worse. I stiffed my family a bit. I got rid of some clothes. I... made a friend? Haven't had one of those that's alive in a bit. Oh, I think Ash is getting nosy. Someone's outside the door at least. Never thought I'd see a changeling reveal themselves. Maybe Cloud is bored. I could go draw with them. Maybe we can repaint this ship.

I wonder if I'm the only one to find this child unnerving.
