I'm absolutely delighted by how Jackles chose to play Dean's reactions to seeing Charlie and Gilda kiss. he very much did not go the "ooh, girls kissing, that's hot!" fetishizing horny dude route that was still quite en vogue for a lot of media in the early 2010s. instead he plays it with this barely-restrained open yearning that's just a fascinating acting choice, especially in conjunction with the "did you break up with somebody?" "No! (yes)" conversation earlier in the episode.
