A Joyous Xmas & a Prosperous New Year to you From Ada

29.7.10.  My Dear Girl, Reckon you must think me a “Deserter”, eh’ Well you know it’s Catching! Writing, like fun has been off for a very long time now, as have had so much to do at home on account of Ma’s illness. She never got properly over her Xmas attack. For a fortnight after Easter was again very ill & was just beginning to seem well when again took ill & has now been in bed 7 wks. with I think little hope of ever fully recovering. Of course each time the Dr. gave up all hope but she has pulled through still very thin & weak & then again last Tues. night got a fresh sudden attack of Bronchitis & is now not at all well. So you see what between Shop & Home have been very worried. My niece - Elsie - is home nursing Ma for which we are very thankful. Now - how are you & yours progressing? Hope all well & that you will forgive my delay in writing. How is the boy? Think mine must be lost for get no news! Love from May. Mon. night. Forgot to post. Ma no better Adieu

Dear Emily. I am sending you a photo by this mail I hope you will like it I did not have one of the others left. But every-body thinks this is a good one. Have you heard from Ada yet? She had a nice little wedding & got some lovely presents. I suppose she will tell you all about it when she writes. Love from Annie

[?] went in to see friend off to Armidale & then to Concert in Town Hall at night yest. started work  after our long holiday :  in the evening went to a Wedding at Annandale. Got home  [OK?]. Still am pretty tired. So you are coming over to Town on Sat. to have a few days. Hope having a good time in the Surf. Well can meet you any time on Sat. after 12 [?] walk to the Railway although now the trams are at last running along Addison Road. 17/11/1907  Pine Grove  Thursday Night  Dear Miss Graham, Your pretty P.C. to hand, glad to hear you were O.K. I went to the cricket match on Monday, & enjoyed myself as usual. I was sorry to see the Mundooran boys getting beaten so bad. I suppose you heard Stanley won the bike race. I did not go to the dance, but you should have, as your dark eyed boy was there. I am sure he missed you. I must say a fond good bye with the usual share of love from Your sincere Friend Nellie.

My friend forwarded it on to me We only had 5 wks. & was home for the last one in case was packed off. How time is flying, only 5 more wks. & then Easter. Do not think am going away so hope to see you. Glad you had such enjoyable holidays. I have had such an all round good time am afraid there’s a magnet about! I have been to Theatre couple of times lately but most startling is swimming. Have joined our Club : went to Coogee Class last Mon aft. - was lovely - have friends there so stayed that night & after tea back into the breakers. A party of us - girls - are going out Sat. aft. Cousin is forwarding blouse to you today (Frid) hope rec. safely in time & that will like it. I think it ought to look just the thing. Breakfast a.m.: so Adoo. Best love from May.

Back: “Glengarry Park”, West Dapto 30.9.06. My Holidays are now nearly over - worse luck : have been having a nice quiet but enjoyable time down here since Wed. aft. last. Was just so lovely to get away from City. Maggie is also here but not feeling too good : think she did too much walking at beginning of wk. Went to Camden on the Frid. & returned on the Sat.: had had quite enough. Her legs are very much swollen & if not better will [?] with me tomorrow night & see the Dr about them. Jack arrived in Sydney last Tues. night but is not coming down here for another ten days. We are with [?]. Am so glad you had such an enjoyable holiday & when you talk of staying on just makes me think there is a very big attraction somewhere about. Suppose this Bachelor’s Ball next Frid. night 5th Oct : & my Birthday so [keep?] it up - will [settle?] things. In your letter you said 5th Nov. but was a mistake [...?].
