for context reasons, this is how a gif I used in a recent gifset looks like without any adjustments/coloring whatsoever:

I truly donβt think people realize how dingy and dark most movies and tv shows actually are so they canβt appreciate the work and skill it takes to make gifs look the way your brain βremembersβ it looking.
Another before and after example:
This gif needed 6 different adjustment layers, not including the sharpening process, which is its own separate challenge. The blue window was also changed to green to keep the palette more consistent and to reduce the range of colors needed, because a wider range of colors generally results in worse gif quality since gifs only support a max of 256 (compared to the millions your monitor can display).

And itβs all pink and fashionable because femininity and badassness arenβt mutually exclusive. No matter who you are, you can be anything.
Thatβs why Barbieβs slogan is βyou can be anythingβ. Teaching these ideals to little girls is why Barbie was created. Empowering women and empowering femininity is the original meaning of the Barbie doll. Itβs not that you have to be all this to be a woman, but if you are all or some of this, you too are awesome.
And somehow pop culture deliberately changed that narrative. Sexualised, bimbofied, and villainised her, when she actually isnβt responsible for the impossible beauty standards β people are, sheβs just a stylised, not-to-scale toy like most others.
Men are frothing because heβs just Ken and I guess they were expecting her to be just Barbie, but thatβs exactly what Ken is. Canonically. A badass womanβs himbo boyfriend.
This movie has the potential to change the way we collectively see Barbie radically into what Ruth Handlerβs intended, Iβm so very excited

dont get me wrong this is #mood but just try eating a piece of bread with salt. please, seriously. ok? at least a tiny bit. salt helps with nausea, bread calms the stomach acid. if you really canβt face eating anything, just lick some salt like a damn elk, then wait and see if you can manage the bread. make some broth if youβre into that kind of thing. no spices, yes salt. if youβre feeling too weak and shaky to do much, just have a cup of tea with sugar (energy) and lemon (again, good against nausea). nibble on the lemon first, it will feel good, but donβt overdo - citric acid on an empty stomach is a majorly bad idea. take care of yourself, youβre the only you weβve got
