Yuffie Kisaragi was born November 20th, 1991 to Wutaiâs apparent leader Godo Kisaragi and a woman named Kasumi. Her height is listed at 5â˛2Ⲡby her teens and she is blood type A. While originally an optional character in the OG, she featured in all the following games and was one of the main supporting characters in Dirge of Cerberus.Â
While Yuffieâs behavior is often played off as obnoxious particularly in the OG, it is worth note that she does continue to assist AVALANCHE and later the WRO, she actually maintains a friendly and optimistic attitude and often shows compassion to others.
Chronologically her ages in the Compilation are:
9 when first met in Crisis Core
Yuffie is first met as a child during Crisis Core where she attempts to defeat Zack during his assault on Fort Tamblin, and goes on to interact as the Treasure Princess through mission options and mail. She is also seen during Before Crisis, interacting with the Player Turk during a mission to try and deal with an AVALANCHE cell in Wutai.
One of two optional characters in the OG, Yuffie is first seen as the âMystery Ninjaâ who attacks randomly in forests and the player must go through a specific order of interactions for her to join the team.
On the optional Wutai side quests, more of Yuffieâs backstory is revealed as she steals the teamâs materia in an effort towards restoring Wutai. Having grown up during the Wutai War, Yuffie has strong opinions against ShinRa for turning the proud nation into little more than a âtourist townâ and appears disgusted with her father for âgiving upâ the fight. She appears to have very little patience with tradition and is determined to restore her country even if she has to do so alone, though her efforts are sidetracked when she is captured by Don Corneo.
Because she is an optional character, Yuffie is not shown in the ending FMV of the OG, and it is later explained that she and Vincent went to Midgar to help Reeve with the evacuation, as seen in Dirge of Cerberus. This conflicts with the scenes where they are with the others attacking Sephiroth in Advent Children.
In On the Way to a Smile there is mention of Geostigma hitting Wutai, and Yuffie is quick to try and aid everyone involved, though she is briefly assumed to have been the one to carry the âMidgar Diseaseâ and is quarantined until her childhood friend helps release her. She continues to seek a cure up until the events of Advent Children, where she once again returns to aid AVALANCHE.
Yuffie plays a larger role in Dirge of Cerberus where she assists Reeve Tuesti and the WRO, working in espionage and intelligence gathering and leading troops during the Battle of Midgar. She is also seen throughout as assisting Vincent in combat.
Yuffie is a ranged fighter who uses shurikens, including in her limit breaks which often attack multiple enemies. Her second Level 1 limit is one of the two healing limits that do not belong to Aerith. She learns her limits slightly quicker than most of the party.
Level 1 begins with Greased Lightning and unlocks Clear Tranquil after using it 8 times.
Level 2 begins with Landscaper after defeating 64 enemies, and unlocks Bloodfest after using it 7 times
Level 3 begins with Gauntlet after defeating 64 enemies since the level two limits and unlocks Doom of the Living after using it 6 times
Level 4, All Creation, is unlocked after obtaining all other limits and using the manual obtained after defeating Godo in the optional Pagoda sidequest in Wutai.
Yuffie is one of the date options for Cloud, only slightly easier to get than Barret.
