some harry potter headcanons because we all know 19 years later could have been better
this is long but hear me out
okay so harry and ginny kissed in the common room after the quidditch match in 6th year but thats it.
they both realise that it was kinda silly and ginny soon after discovers she’s lesbian. (as adults she bullies harry saying he single handedly turned her against all men)
ginny is a quidditch icon and almost every young queer witch (whether she knows it yet or not) has a poster of chaser ginny in her room.
after the battle and everything, harry constantly has nightmares and lapses into phases where he feels very distant from others. at times like these, he finds himself craving luna’s company because she always knows just what to say.
harry and luna realise that there’s literally no other person’s mind they admire more than each others and a few years after the battle, they’re dating, and soon after that they’re married.
luna is ace, and thats not the reason they decide not to have biological children, but its worth mentioning.
harry and luna both know the importance and impact of parents and what its like to lose one or both of them. so naturally they foster from an orphanage.
they adopt a 3 year old boy named timothy and his newborn sister. harry and luna name her pandora lily after their mothers.
ron and hermione’s story essentially follows as it does in the book; they marry and have two children: rose and hugo. but some notable things:
hermione works at the ministry and she is distinguished for her work in banning the production, distribution, and consumption of love potion in the wizarding world and of course her establishment of S.P.E.W
multiple people have encouraged her to go for the position of minister of magic but she refuses to, happy with her accomplishments so far.
ron helps george at weasleys’ wizard wheezes and finds out not only does he love to eat food but he has knack for making it too.
he’s an excellent cook and is always experimenting with new recipes at home much to rose and hugo’s delight who get to be official taste-testers. he creates all the sweets and treats at the joke shop.
charlie teases ron saying that of all the weasley children he’s most like their mother. ron goes pink at the ears but he knows that being in the ranks with molly weasley’s cooking is as high as a compliment gets.
straight out of hogwarts, neville interns with professor sprout, and after some years she retires, and he takes on the job as herbology professor full time.
the same year, hannah abbot joins the staff as matron.
neville and hannah spend increasingly more time together and sometimes when she has to stay at the infirmary overnight with an injured student, neville brings her dinner and they hang out together.
on such occasions, a student might wink at him as he levitates plates of food through the halls and, clumsy as ever, he drops a goblet of pumpkin juice. more than once.
to absolutely no ones surprise, they start dating and a few years later are married in a sick garden wedding in the greenhouses. (plenty of students wagered on when they’d get together)
theres one year level of students who claim to have seen neville and hannah’s relationship play out before their very eyes throughout their hogwarts career and tell people they’ve been blessed
they don’t have children because working at the castle is like having 1000 children
draco has no clue what he wants to do with his life when he leaves Hogwarts and finds himself wandering around dragon alley one day.
he enters ollivander’s wand shop and discovers that he is fascinated by the wand-making process.
he becomes wand makers’s protégé and when ollivander retires he takes over.
turns out draco is great at interacting with young witches and wizards because unlike their parents they don’t really know who he is so aren’t submitted to a scene of animosity.
the children leave the shop telling their parents how nice and cool mr malfoy was and the parents are like “malfoy? petty, ferret malfoy who made ‘potter stinks’ badges was nice and cool?”
omg when harry, ron and hermione enter with timmy and rose, the air is thick with tension. “potter” draco sneers as if nothings changed and hermione rolls her eyes.
“weasley, don’t tell me you lot had as many children as your parents”
to which rose says “you guys know each other?!” and timmy asks if they were friends when they were at Hogwarts.
the adults are suddenly reminded that they can’t subject their kids to petty feuds from their pasts so ron says “something like that” and they leave the kids with draco but not without harry giving him one last stern look.
other than before the school term begins, draco doesn’t really have to deal with many customers and finds the peace and time to himself inviting.
however some diagon alley frequenters notice he’s pretty close with madam malkin’s son who now owns the robe store.
draco is often found in adrian malkin’s shop. they talk about their own schooling days - adrian went to beauxbatons.
draco feels as though adrian is the first real friend he’s ever made the effort to have and cherishes it.
