Before working on this comic, I learned a lot about America from people here on Tumblr, and I’m really grateful for that.
This is only Part 1, and there’s more to come. I think Japanese readers will enjoy it, but for American readers, it might feel a bit obvious or not very surprising, so maybe a little boring.

as much as everyone loves "the power of love won't save us, we need the power of incredible violence" i'm sorry to rain on your parade but we've actually tried that about ten million times as a species, and you'll be shocked to hear the power of incredible violence, without the power of love behind it, is just brutality. the power of incredible violence has been ruling (various parts of, and then the entire) world for the past 5,000 years. ours is not that damn special.
like yes use that gun you found but WHY are you using it? on who are you using it? what would make you stop using it? is your goal to live in a world where every problem is solved by violence, or is your goal to do the violence necessary to live in a world where that necessity is unthinkable?

on the subject of pacifism, if you are interested: i consider myself what i would call a preferential pacifist. i think we should always hold peace and non-violence as a moral preference, meaning we should always choose it when it viably leads to a better world, or the least-violent choice that is viable, and when we do choose violence we must make further decisions that allow us to eventually choose peace again.
i think sometimes violence is necessary to uphold greater moral values, including peace, but ultimately it should be something we are forced to do to some extent, and we should only do it while actively looking for other options.
You might be interested in Marashall Rosenberg's definition of force as opposed to nonviolence, and the positive notion of nonviolence as an active specific strategy rather than just the absence of violence.
Speaking of violence, what is it? Galtung defines violence as the avoidable failure to meet human needs, and recognizes both direct (punches and kicks) and structural (denying people the ability to afford food) violence.
Soeaking of needs, what are they? After all, we use the word fairly loosely! Rosenberg defines needs as that category of resources universally essential to human life which makes no specific mention of other people or actions (with the exception of the need for other's well-being). So if it's not universal to every human who ever lived, it's not a need. Examples include food, water, air, shelter, intimacy, play, autonomy, connection, and meaning. Sex is not a need for example, but it is a strategy (all things that aren't needs are just strategies to get a need satisfied). Everyone's needs can be met, and the fulfillment of needs motivates every human action and interaction.
So Rosenberg puts these together and says that while he is a proponent of nonviolence, sometimes force is required. Force is required when there isn't time to communicate (car about to hit child for example), or in order to open the lines of communication (protesting a school in order to have a conversation with those in power about changing policy). The idea is to use the least amount of force possible and only until you can create once more the conditions nessecary for communication. Done this way, force is not violence, as defined previously, and is fully consistent with nonviolence.

This is a method I started using when NFTs were on the rise - thieves would have to put actual work into getting rid of the mark - and one that I am now grateful for with the arrival of AI. Why? Because anyone who tries to train an AI on my work will end up with random, disruptive color blobs.
I can't say for sure it'll stop theft entirely, but it WILL make your images annoying for databases to incorporate, and add an extra layer of inconvenience for thieves. So as far as I'm concerned, that's a win/win.
I'll be showing the steps in CSP, but it should all be pretty easy to replicate in Photoshop.

1) do this even if you're under 40. seriously. I definitely should have been doing something like this for years and I only turned 40 a month and a half ago
2) if you're like me just now trying this going "oh god i've only done 15 and i think my hands are cramping" start lower than 30 and increase by 5 once whatever number you're doing no longer makes your hand cramp up. I can manage about 15 per exercise at the moment.
