accidental rampant creation

N SEWELL - LASOMBRA

Lasombra for N, even aside from the technophobia jokes (see prev post tags), is kinda fun? Lasombra typically turn people who are ambitious, but also individuals with military experience, politically savvy sorts, and survivors of tragedies. their clan powers (disciplines) are Dominate (crushing wills and commanding obedience), Oblivion (manipulation of shadows) and Potence (enhanced strength). historically they've been shadowy puppeteers, spies and assassins, often making use of religious organisations to disguise their existence.

N isn't quite as ambitious as some of the others of UB, and isn't necessarily the strongest or the most shadowy, but just look at what we have teased of their backstory. i could see N's actions in trying to chase after what happened to their brother catching the attention of a Lasombra- either pulling favours to get themselves assigned to the ship, or stowing away. not accepting the version of the story they were told. you could make something of that, if you were a scheming vampire in the shadows… (and there's literally a mention of some of them being 'maritime raiders' historically lmfao SO IT'S GREAT)

all clans have a typical compulsion, when the Beast and Hunger takes over- the Lasombra bane is Ruthlessness. they despise failure, and any failures must be corrected. am i weird for saying i can see this for N? it wouldn't be so overt and obvious as A's more obvious pride, i think N would manage it well and disguise their corrections- but they don't tend to try many things they aren't reasonably sure they'll immediately be good at…

F HAUVILLE - SALUBRI BRUJAH. DEFINITELY.

F Hauville i think is a Salubri pretending to be… something else (but what exactly might change from time to time). Maybe Brujah- or maybe a Toreador! most people in whatever organisation they work for probably assume they're a Caitiff tho. (i will say the idea of Secret Salubri has been stolen from one of my fellow players in the VTM campaign i'm in- its such a good idea omg)

Salubri are rare in the World of Darkness in part because their blood is sooooo yummy and there's an unfortunate historical pattern of Salubri getting eaten by other vampires, including their clan founder, Saulot. they have a third eye, often in the middle of their forehead, which cries blood when they use their disciplines. their typical powers are Auspex (Seeing Supernatural Things- premonitions and aura reading), Dominate and Fortitude (physical resilience). i would definitely give F Celerity (super speed!) instead of Fortitude, which would help the Brujah or Toreador disguise as both those clans have that discipline

Brujah are the anarchist punks and philosophers of the vampire world- F's history in the Echo World with demons, and their ambition within the Agency being from a desire for greater freedoms- F would absolutely start a union. F would absolutely pass well for a Brujah. Toreador on the other hand- well they're the seducers, the artists or patrons of artists. i think it could work, with their fashion and interior decor judgement when they come to the apartment! this is in part reference to my game's secret salubri is pretending to be that (and so is our baby Tremere) so 'pretending to be a toreador' is becoming a bit of a running joke

and Caitiff are only united by not being united. they're not part of any clan! socially they're not very well regarded, and it would make more sense to outsiders that F is pretending to be in a clan at all, rather than jumping to Secret Salubri suspicions.

but Salubri being rare fits my need to have F be Special- natural vampire from the Echo World in TWC, rare and desired in VTM. it would also help explain why they're working for the VTM-translated-Agency- it's for safety! and Salubri also have a compulsion of Effective Empathy. when they get Hungry they're compelled to try and help people solve their problems. that's perfect for F.

A DU MORTAIN - TZIMISCE

the other idea i have for A is to make them a Banu Haqim- they're very focused on justice, on their moral codes, and have a tendency towards a structured society. i could absolutely come up with a BH Adam or Ava- a knight turned during the crusades…

but idk i really like the idea of A as a Tzimisce. Tzimisce are EXTREMELY traditional vampires. Dracula was one! tho he did all his realworld historical shit well before becoming a vampire. but they are the clan which is defined by their possessiveness and control, bound by their domain. their powers are Dominate, Animalism (control of animals) and Protean (physical transformation). the flagship amalgam powers of Vicissitude and Fleshcrafting let them permanently change themselves and others. their Bane, Grounded, means they have to return to sleep among their chosen charge- a physical domain, a group of people, an organisation, or else feel their willpower wear away.

im painting a picture here and i hope you see it. A du Mortain, their domain maybe the Unit, maybe the very Agency itself (translated to VTM somehow- this could be a whole nother post lmfao). their absolute control of themselves, their pride in their physicality and physical abilities. the chaotic abruption of the norm by the detective, their attempts to resist ultimately futile because they cannot just walk away from someone who should be theirs- A could be a FANTASTIC tzimisce prove me wrong. i'd probably swap out Animalism for Potence (physical enhancement) in building them as a character tho

AGENT M - CAITIFF

the mystery of M's backstory makes me immediately reach for Caitiff. i really like Caitiff- some vampires are clanned but socially caitiff, because they don't know who their sire is, they don't understand their abilities or bane. but there are those who have no clan bane, no typical set of powers and limitations. they're in the minority of all vampires in modern nights, but they have existed arguably as long as the clanned vampires. maybe even longer, some arguing that this was the original form of vampirism…

we've gotten snippets of M's backstory and i'd run them as a Caitiff theorised to be created by a mad scientist Tzimisce, or a Tremere- though the truth could be the experimenting vampire was not their actual sire. Tremere practice Blood Sorcery, and are basically wizards who turned themselves into vampires (and also who ate Saulot, the Salubri founder!), they could well be up to Further Vampirism Experiments. M doesn't give a shit tho, as per usual!

i'd give M the powers of Auspex, Potence and Presence (emotional manipulation and control). they probably also have a 'bugged' Auspex where Heightened Senses always applies as a default. i would also give them the Word-Scarred flaw, where their body is covered in texts of ancient vampire lore- whether it was inscribed by their maybe-sire or manifest on their turning. long sleeves to cover it up!

and yay that's UB! only took me 8 months since i did the dresden files one, to research enuff vtm to be able to pitch this lmfao

and obviously these are just my own personal opinions and ideas, feel free to disagree and pitch alternate ideas! i love cramming hyperfixations together and vtm's take on vampires is soooo fun and interesting!!

bonus rounds: Vi-Sefha/Murphy- Ventrue redworker with Blood Sorcery and Thinblood Alchemy, in the Calcinatio tradition. his Rareified Taste restriction is Homebrew- he has to have done some sort of Adjustment of his victim's blood with sorcery or alchemy to be able to feed.

Pannie would be a thinblood who doesn't realise she's a vampire (and neither does anyone else around her) bc she's got the Lifelike and Day Drinker merits, and the Baby Teeth and Vitae Dependency flaws. and Lucien is [REDACTED]
