Great Hellhole rocks are formed from slightly tinted sandstone. It boasts of 3 big arches that remained from much larger cave holes. Out of the Cave flows cult spring dropping down valuable natural water. Great Hellhole has been an ancient cult size. The Great Hellhole for the first time was mentioned in 1791, but the cave is considered to be one of the oldest tourist attractions in Latvia. Liepas Great cave hall is archaeological and geological monument of national importance since 1974. The Great Hellhole has emerged as a result of rock mechanical erosion. Possible the cave is more than 7'000 years old.
