pre-social facts of humanity are stuff like⌠humans need to eat to not die⌠or humans reproduce sexually* rather than asexually⌠but the entire distribution systems and hierarchies involving these that our society possesses canât exist before society⌠the capacity for pregnancy does not intrinsically indicate a humanâs place in social hierarchy⌠the entire point of anti-oppression politics is to abolish the social systems that create these hierarchies and systems of violence⌠nobody is denying that the capacity for pregnancy that a majority of cis women possess has been used for the means of oppressing them, but the social structure that does this is rooted in societyâs means of organizing itself (patriarchy, the class system), not in âbiologyâ⌠which is why infertile or transgender women are not exempt from patriarchal oppression at all. [*] even using the word sexually to refer to human reproduction is socially charged because you canât separate sex from the system of gender in a society where a system of gender exists. merely saying âsexuallyâ invokes ideas of gender.

I think the term âpedophileâ as the default has a lot of problems in the way it frames any conversation wrt csa and like I think is also just basically a move towards naturalizing csa as an orientation even if the APA claims that it somehow magically doesnât because they got yelled at one time for saying it is. Like itâs just a word w a lot of implied ideas abt how csa functions and most of them I think are super individualistic and severs the much stronger ties between csa and other forms of abuse in favor of focusing on sexuality (which I think comes w the added history of naturalizing sexualities being a method of depathologizing and normalizing them)
you can and will get immense pushback from certain ppl on this site self-christened as âantipedo blogsâ or whtvr if you say something like ânot all sex offenders against children are pedophilesâ, even though thatâs literally the accepted consensus stance among those who research and deal firsthand with pedophilia, because of a lot of misintuitions abt about how things like csa works â they have this very naive approach in conceptualizing csa as purely the flow of a sexual attraction producing an unethical sexual action, or a system of sexual abuses, in which itâs the sexual attraction thatâs not just primarily but invariably the main cause as to why things like this happen. authority of the family and economic/social health factors and gendered power and the dynamics present in the majority of family structuring & hierarchy that not only make csa possible but popular in family dynamics, these things are mere accessories to how abuse occurs, but they cannot be conceived as the major & primary reason why it occurs.
itâs weird when people say shit like pansexuality is âsplitting/reducing the bi communityâ & stuff like that because like, setting aside the fact that the existence of a âbisexual communityâ is entirely nominal & so thereâs nothing really to split in any meaningful sense historically speaking people whoâve IDâd as pan or other mspec identities have always been happy to consolidate with bisexuals for activism or social collectives or common causes, they even created umbrella terms like âbi+â or âmspecâ to describe the community & solidarity they shared with bisexuals. the only thing thatâs âdividing the communityâ is the ppl actively ostracizing pansexuals for idâing as pan & alienating/excluding them from the spaces theyâve historically always existed in and happily shared with bisexuals.
Bullshit, the thing that's dividing the community is people thinking they can take a historical definition of bisexuality, slap another name on it and redefine bisexuality to validate themselves while spewing a ton of biphobic rethoric, and then cry when bi people have even the mildest criticism of their label, their behaviour and their community.
The only people who "ostracize" pansexuals (which I promise its not an issue) are bisexuals who say that no, you can't be biphobic and claim that your sexuality is ~so different~ from bisexuality (which was a widespread sentiment up until,,,, a couple of years ago maybe? The "bi+" and "mspec" shit is recent) and then demand access to everything made for bisexuals. That's not how it works, you can't have your cake and eat it too.
i think âbi+â and âmspecâ as umbrella terms only started gaining traction until more recently but like, the idea of there being some kind of community or coalition between bisexuals, pansexuals and other similar identities we would today consider âmspecâ dates back at least multiple decades in historical activism â âbi any other nameâ (1991) mentions that âpansexuals have been actively involved in the bisexual community since the 1970âsâ, bi women quarterly in the 1980âs refers to people that âlived a bisexual lifestyle but did not refer to themselves as bisexualsâ, ranging from 1993 - 1996 a variety of bisexual-centered publications that would directly & explicitly acknowledge the labels pansexuality, omnisexuality, multisexuality and polysexuality discussed the relevance of those identities and those who labeled with them (x).
like you know âpansexualsâ didnât just pop into existence circa 2010âs right. âpansexualâ and âbisexualâ were considered semi-synonymous by a lot of activistsâ very well known bi activist Robyn Ochs idâd as pan as well as bi, activists like Wendy Curry and more talked abt pansexuality. âeverything made for bisexualsâ was technically made for pansexuals too, and also made by some people who idâd as pansexual.
also I just want to point out that attraction to all genders, etc being a historical definition for bi isnât mutually exclusive with attraction to all genders also being a historical definition for pan, technically. and I think itâs true thereâs a problematic trend among some pansexuals in terms of spouting biphobic nonsense, although that fact isnât mutually exclusive with the fact there are as many pansexuals past and present that donât do those things and respect bisexualityâs label and history.

i know theyâre selectively biased & all that but if you keep proceeding w/ this âthese trends in behaviors happen in other male mammals too, therefore it must be âinherentâ to âmale natureââ then you ultimately make a full circle back to things like, the conceiving of women as ânaturallyâ or âpredisposed to beingâ domestic laborers & housewives bc most female mammals serve as their offspringâs primary caregivers in nature, or there being inherent differences between the sexes/genders in terms of suitability & aptitude to different kinds of skill sets or whatever, because this logic is at its roots reactionary and rightwing misogynistic (and additionally racist, ableist, etc) and is primarily the ideological tool with which oppression has naturalized the containment of women to domestic spheres & child-rearing. and i donât think I have to like, link videos of rightwing demagogues & white men on pulpits talking abt natural order and how housewifery & feminine domesticity is the most functionally sensible way to effectively rear kids bc of biology or whatever, to prove this point.
obviously the whole thing is like. a big double standardâ theyâre going from chimps to lions to dolphins to sea otters, all with immensely varying levels of difference to humans and to each other, itâs like a really weird fallacy project of cherry-picking multiple completely unrelated mammal species to make some point about the human condition that doesnât even follow from the logic itâs trying to use. I could probably just as easily point to my own collection of widely ranging & unrelated mammal species with matriarchal societies or more neglible phenomena of male sexual violence as countering âproofâ (elephants, spotted hyenas, meerkats, lemurs, bonobos), like come on, thereâs so little effort displayed in even thinking intelligently about what theyâre saying.
so you don't believe lori maddox that her experience was consensual?
I think that Lori consented, but I donât think it makes it somehow not pedophilia or an unethical decision on David Bowieâs part. Like, not all sex that meets the bare minimum standard of ânot being unconsensualâ is ethical
Think for a moment about how you are trying to defend a grown man in his mid 20â˛s having sex with a girl in the 8th grade.
Honestly, regardless of whether or not Lori gave what seemed, to both her and Bowie, to be consent, I donât really think that it counts. I donât believe it was possible for her to give consent in that sort of situation. On the one side, you have a very rich, very famous, very privileged dude who always gets his way. On the other side, you have a starstruck and impressionable girl, with very little real-life experience, who has spent her whole life being told by society that sheâs an object. And then this man who she probably sees as a God has sex with her. Society does not condemn him, everyone tells her that sheâs so lucky, etc. etc. Consent is not possible under those circumstances. No matter what. The situation is inherently coercive, in terms of the psychological effect that sort of power dynamic has on people in Loriâs position. Iâm too tired to expand on this right now, and I will probably forget to do so in the morning, but folks are welcome to pick it up and make it a bit more âformally logicalâ if they so desire.
I guess Iâm just coming from a perspective where I think that itâs potentially unhelpful to have that approach when it comes to the problems of CSA, for multiple reasons.
Like, first of all, that actually doesnât align with my experiences as a person sexually abused as a child, and while I respect someoneâs ability to re-understand their consent and ability to consent retrospectively, I donât hink thatâs what Lori was doing. I think she still considers her acts consensual. Which like, I feel similarly about my CSA stuff too.
And I think itâs important to like, not strip away peopleâs agency and ability to consent, while still not condoning the behavior on the part of the adult. Like, I think treating children as âunable to consentâ to bodily choices actually has major consequences for children re: medical choices (for example, trans-ness) and peer-level sexuality.
I also think that for some people it might actually be different insofar as, being someone who has had consensual sex while a minor (that fucked me up) and also having been sexually assaulted (i.e. nonconsensual), those had different issues and affected me much differently.
I guess Iâm also like, wary of decrying anything that is exploitative and wrong as ânonconsentâ because beyond the fact that it takes away agency from a group of people already without a lot of agency (children), it confuses exploitation for coercion. Thereâs a clear difference between Loriâs experiences with David Bowie and her experiences with Jimmy Page. I think that both men are pedophiles who were doing fucked up things, but I think from a survivorâs perspective, those circumstances would have very different effects on me at least.
So I guess what Iâm saying is that criticisms of Bowie (and pedophiles at large) have to be done in a way that doesnât handwave survivorâs opinions of their own experiences as âfalse consciousnessâ.
The âconsent is impossibleâ narrative has always bothered me too. because children and teens do make choices and give consent to lots of things; they just donât have the same capacity to do so as adults, and thatâs the actual problem. I guess Iâm just repeating @bitterpunktrashâs point here but an adult exploiting that difference can be and is still 100% a sexual abuser, but the survivorâs consent is still important to the survivor. It was to me, anyway. So if itâs important to the survivor, itâs important to me, because thatâs who identify with and thatâs who Iâm in solidarity with. If weâre gonna have a humane and sensible ethics of consent and power around sex we need to be able to center survivorsâ experiences but still be able to make partially independent judgments about their abusers and rapists. Thatâs how Iâve dealt with my own experiences.
So yeah, in summary, David Bowie was a pedophilic rapist as far as Iâm concerned because his behavior was unacceptably exploitative and abusive of a severe power differential (adult, ultra-famous, teen idol) and Lori was an eighth-grader, but I refuse to invalidate Lori Maddoxâs experience, and tell her she didnât consent, since itâs her experience. I just wonât do that to another survivor. Iâm iffy on even calling her a survivor if she doesnât identify that way (of which Iâm unsure). But I think I can stand with her and also solidly stand against child sexual abuse.
âŚitâs possible to call a thing bad sexual ethics without calling it rape. Not all ugly sexual experiences are rape. Just like not all jackass behavior is punishable by law. Was he an ass for taking this kind of chance with a too-young kid? Yeah.Â
Am I going to call it rape? No, because she didnât and you canât condemn the guy for rape when the person involved doesnât call it that. You canât stand on both sides of the fence like that. Thatâs no different than going âoh honey i believe youâ to a victimâs face and then behind her back going âyeah sheâs a golddigging liar trying to ruin his lifeâ. You donât do that, you donât do this. Both are fake. You either believe her or you donât. No half-measures.
And that feeds into the pedophile stuff too. He didnât groom her. He didnât stalk her. It wasnât rape. He didnât âgo afterâ others. Again, itâs slimy to have taken the chance it may be damaging and had sex with someone so young, but it was consensual and it turned out fine. If he wanted to take that risk, thatâs his stupidity to choose. It doesnât make him a rapist, it makes him rash. She didnât have any problems with it, now or then. If itâs pedophilic and coercive/rape because he was a celebrity, then stars canât ever be around anyone but other stars because even adults are idiotically starstruck. That thinking is absurd. Consent is possible or it isnâtâcanât have both.
This kind of thing is illegal because itâs usually impossible to get real consent and itâs damaging. She did really consent, and she wasnât damaged. This is one of the few exceptions. People shouldnât do it. But we really canât point fingers other than to say his risk was slimy.
Didnât she meet him in a bar anyway? As in, sheâd gotten into a bar, likely with a fake ID, and approached him while he was likely already intoxicated and his judgment was impaired.
So in this situation where a girl, who likely made herself look older than she was, approaches him while heâs intoxicated, i canât really say that anything was his fault or that he did anything wrong.
See, I canât take feminists seriously when so many of them leap on the âbowie was a pedoâ bandwagon when he did nothing wrong but openly support Lena Dunham despite her admitting she molested her younger sister.
Sorry to burst yr bubble, but I am also really not about Lena Dunham for that reason (among others).
But I canât believe that real people are using some fucking Lolita Temptress idea here. Literally no one is forcing adult men to have sex with 13 year old children. And I donât know about you, but like 13 year olds look like literal fucking children to me, and did after I was like getting out of high school.
I just⌠Are you all actually arguing that itâs alright for men in their mid to late 20â˛s to have sex with 13 year old girls? Is that actually what youâre saying? Like, I think that even if you donât consider it ârapeâ (a word that Iâm like⌠conflicted about) surely you think that itâs like, fucked up behavior that should not be socially sanctioned?
Of course itâs pretty fucked up and if there was evidence that he knew she was 13 he shouldâve faced criminal charges but letâs be real here, the manâs dead, if the girl didnât want to bring criminal procedures or nobody could find evidence that she knew she was 13 then itâs a bit fucked up to suddenly start bringing it up now. At least wait until his corpse is cold.
ok well here is my post from months ago criticizing Bowie for that incident
But beyond that, of course when someone dies is when shit like this gets brought up, because it is the time we look at someoneâs legacy and their life in a totalistic way. And like, itâs also the time that people start mythologizing and romanticizing people, which in the case of people who have sex with children I am for disrupting that process.
That romanticization and âdonât speak ill of the deadâ shit particularly angers me because that was a really difficult part of my father (who emotionally + sexually abused me) dying, and having to listen to a million people talk about how great he was and being pressured to offer positive evaluations because of ârespect for the deadâ
And like, honestly, I donât know when the last time yâall saw a 13 year old is, but trust me, they donât look like adults. They look like children. The idea that they might look like sexually viable options for an adult man (in some peoples opinions) actively makes me sick.
im skeptical that he hadnât known she was a minor because like âbaby groupiesâ seemed to be a wellknown âthingâ (cw for photos of underage girls dressed revealingly in this article) on the scene back then, and Lori and her similarly aged friends allegedly knew Bowie for months before the actual sex occurred so I find it really unlikely Bowie could not have at least suspected she was a minor before that time. i also donât think she (or probably much other of the âbaby groupiesâ) were actively trying to hide their ages or statuses as minors, so like.. I find it more unlikely that he didnât know than that he did.
contending that the primary reasoning behind leg shaving being a thing for women being âlatent child-attractionâ like is singlehanded like the most white liberal feminist analysis that i can possibly think of. like if yr gonna go big with it, then you can easily analyze it as (in line with menâs face shaving) a long-term-historical need to differentiate âcivilized peopleâ from âbarbariansâ. If you want to look to a more modern set of situations you can easily conceptualize it as a tactic of both creating a larger intuitive perceptual gap between women and men (this being along extremely racialized lines) than previously existed as well as the expansion of feminine beauty standards an razor corporations (so called âtechnologies of the selfâ) in reaction to the lifting prohibitions on wearing completely-covering clothing. Itâs worth noting that the advice a lot of mothers gave was to not shave past the knee - not because doing more so would make you look like a baby, but because it would make you look like a slut (which, incidentally is a conceptually adult category). Ascribing this to latent child attraction actually lines up with the idea of âmodernist degeneracyâ (up until the early 1900â˛s, it was only men who shaved in the U.S.)
lots of women have hair on their face in some amount (for 10% of women with PCOS frequently even more so). the charge against them that they get if they donât shave isnât âyouâre so old!â (or adult or whatever) itâs that they âlook like a manâ. âshockinglyâ this is also carried thru by so called feminists when the women failing the arbitrary beauty standard imposition of gender differentiation in question are trans

re: the game grumps dan callout
@ant-terra Ive heard like two different narratives abt what supposedly went down: 1) they first came into contact when she was 17 just going on 18 and he was in his 40âs, and their relationship turned sexual just as she âbecame legalâ. 2) they first contacted each other when she was 17/18, and four years later when she was 22 they engaged in sexual relations. Apparently the first account of what happened had been discredited, and now everyone is saying the second is true. I have no idea â if the second is true and she herself claims no grooming had occurred at any point and everything had been consensual, then maybe Iâm missing something but i donât see how it can lead to a takeaway that heâs a sexual predator? Iâm not fully aware abt every other allegation out against him, but if what everyone is saying about what âactually happenedâ here is true then this occassion itself doesnât plausibly prove anything about whether or not he is a sexual predator.
Itâs honestly jaw dropping how so many people on this site seriously think the idea that Nazis burned books of erotica was made up recently by fanfic authors as opposed to being made up by⌠the Nazis.. when they did that⌠because they did⌠they used the 1926 Weimar law âGesetz zur Bewahrung der Jugend vor Schund und Schmutzwrittenâ (Law to Protect Youth from Trash and Smut Literature) as the legal basis for their book burnings beginning with their seizure of power in 1933 until 1935 when it was rendered obsolete by the newly established Reichsschrifttumskammer (itself a branch of Goebbelsâ RKK). âSchmutâ or in English âsmutâ is literally vulgar erotica that managed to escape the stricter definition of âobscenityâ. The campaign from churches and right wing political parties to pass the 1926 law was entirely a moral panic about the supposed effects such literature would have on the populace. This isnât me looking inward for a hunch itâs what the fucking evidence says
For fucks sake this isnât a defense of incest or incest fiction or whatever itâs a defense of history and looking at the historical record before you spout your mouth you fucking idiots
Shut up cumbrain
if you had more cum in your brain youâd learn to do research
Unironically true. Thank you for the compliments.
Anyway hereâs some further reading for people interested. I know the above wont read any of it, because its research and thus acts like garlic to a vampire but for anyone interested in understanding the history of censorship in the Third Reich and its antecedents in Weimar Germany (as well as an implicit rebuttal of the myth that Weimar was all wild libertine hedonism prior to 1933). They also discuss the political and cultural climates as well as attempts by groups such the Communist Party of Germany to combat the implementation of the law and how the frustrations of groups such as various church organizations at the such opposition contributed to their throwing support behind the NSDAP regime

The 1926 German Law to Protect Youth against Trash and Dirt: Moral Protectionism in a Democracy by Margaret F. Stieg
I mean they accused the jews and socialists of being whoremongers for doing sex education. I donât want to be âeverything is coded antisemitismâ or âeverything is repeating itselfâ but the elements of sexual panic are relevant and recurring, you can see them now.
Left wing militants and intellectuals for 80 god damn years: âa crucial element of fascism and reactionaryism in general is an unhealthy obsession with sexual degeneracy and the paternalist authoritariansâ need to control sexuality, especially womenâs sexuality and homosexualityâ
Tumblr big brain liberals and wokescolds and tradcaths: sounds like outdated old white men who are trying to make excuses for their sinful tendencies
Since this is getting notes I wanna make it clear Iâm talking about this post people are uncritically reblogging.
Itâs ironic how a post that mentions âfirsthand accounts of historical atrocitiesâ (btw I have no fucking clue what this person is talking about and am certain is just speaking out of their ass because when I hear âcovering up historical atrocitiesâ and âNazismâ I think of Holocaust denial which obviously wasnât a thing in the 1930s) the OP is going out of their way to provide a false description of what was targeted by Nazi book burning campaigns simply because they think historical truth somehow conforms to their gut feeling and instinct.
Oh also the bit about âscientific research that supports civil rightsâ seems to be OP half-remembering Magnus Hirschfeldâs Institute for Sex Research. This is doubly ironic because not only was Hirschfeld a staunch opponent of decency campaigns aimed at censorsing of erotic literature but the burning of the Institutes archives was part of the same wave targeting âsmut literatureâ with Hirschfeldâs research being grouped in the same category
I have no idea what opâs intention here is, but I need to emphasize that sex work isnât easy because itâs a literal job that requires specific skills, connections, and safety measures. This isnât a matter of âoh, prostitution is evil and will destroy you!!!â but just pointing out that social perceptions of sex work are incredibly unrealistic. Too many people think that itâs easy, that all they have to do is sell some pics and theyâll immediately get a sugar daddy and be rolling in cash.
Most âsugar daddiesâ and other people who take on providing roles like that arenât legit and either donât have the cash to back up their claims or theyâre looking to take advantage of someone who doesnât know what red flags to look out for.
Stripping is physically exhausting and requires a lot of athletic skill. Money can also be inconsistent, and it can be difficult to find a place that is trustworthy and works to take of the dancers.
Cam-work takes a lot of , well, work. Equipment is not only expensive, itâs also necessary to get a decent start. It can take years to build up a regular fan base and even longer to make any decent money off of it. Itâs also very difficult to find sites to host your streams.
Selling your own porn, whether itâs pics or videos, is a very inconsistent source of income, especially if youâre first starting out and donât have regular customers. Thereâs also very, very few sites that will let you host your content and very few payment programs that can be used for purchasing or selling sexual content.
Making professional porn can be risky in itself. A lot of studios purposely select inexperienced workers who donât have the ability to refuse scenes they arenât comfortable with, and abuse is rampant in the industry. Not because porn is inherently bad, but because abuse is rampant in EVERY industry and sex workers donât have protections that people doing other jobs have. Porn is also frequently stolen and shared for free, which means much less pay.
Full service sex work is not only physically and emotionally exhausting, itâs also incredibly dangerous. Itâs built on trust that clients will respect the workerâs boundaries and not take advantage of them or hurt them. If something happens, the worker canât go to the police. They have no legal protections, and would likely face more abuse from authorities. Thereâs also the very real risk of being arrested just for existing as a sex worker.
Then thereâs the specialty sex work, like professional domming, which might seem easy but requires extensive skill sets unique to each job and usually a lot of equipment.
Sex work is work. If you go into it expecting easy money, youâre just going to end up getting hurt. If youâre genuinely interested in getting into sex work, knowing the risks and requirements for it, then you need to speak to actual sex workers and learn from them so that you have accurate information and a safety net with people who can help you if something goes wrong.
Hey why are you just saying âsex work is work and it requires time and energy!!!â in response to a tweet about minors doing sex work what the fuck
whatâs wrong with what they said? they were like, addressing the myth abt sex work being âeasy moneyâ that so many people, especially young people, buy intoâ i think it makes sense to dispel the misconceptions abt sex work that typically influence teens/minors into considering doing it in the first place. if your only takeaway from all that was that âyouâre just talking abt how sex work requires time + energy â then clearly you missed the point.
Bro it literally takes no effort to say "pedophilia is bad" instead of falling hard for media propaganda that paints anyone who thinks pedophiles are bad as deranged conspiracy theorists even though just 5 years literally anyone would agree that pedophilia is bad without question because any normal human being with a decent sense of morality can agree on that fact
the problem isnt w the idea that child abuse is bad - people can agree with that who dont believe in conspiracy theory thinking. Like, I believe that the sexual abuse of children is bad, but I however donât believe that a secret âcabalâ (antisemitic dogwhistle) of celebrities and hillary clinton are torturing children under the ground to get the secret chemical released from torture in the pineal gland so that they can use it to live forever or not age or something (this is what Qanon believes). I for example, believe that people like parents and religious leaders and teachers and cops abuse children, and this is demonstrably true
This is how shit like this works for conspiracy theorists and manipulative groups. Of course, things like âtrying to not need drugs if you want to stopâ (Narcanon) or âbelieving in the modern science of mental health to treat traumaâ (Dianetics) at their most broad are things that are goodin most peopleâs minds. But does critiquing the organization or belief system behind it (Sc*entology) mean that you love people being miserable and traumatized? Obviously not.
Qanon is clever because itâs a conspiracy theory built around this sort of nebulous anti-child abuse rhetoric (like the Satanic Ritual Abuse panic) which means that if you criticize like the completely reactionary, antisemitic and conspiratorial shit going on, then you can be cast into suspicion about being a child abuser yourself. that was the point of the post I made and you absolutely played the exact example of what I was talking about. But a criticism of a worldview being ran by the founder of child p*rn hosting site 8chan (who is very likely the person who is now âQâ does not constitute support for child abuse. Its an admonition that people can use that concern cynically to support twisted points of view and frequently deflect from their own child exploitation (as we have seen w the Roman Catholic Church).

The pedophilia in western society manifests in beauty standards and we need to be constantly aware of that
it manifests both in the standards and in the âsignsâ of beauty, the signifiers that allow for those signs to be arranged, the semiotic flows that are directed by them especially through pornography and popular media more generally. most generally, you find the means by which an ideation of âyouthâ is projected against the barrier of adulthood; pedophilia as a definite act is only collapsed into an action through creating a prohibition which may be violated, even as it expresses prior structures of power.
the use of âbarely legalâ as a descriptor, of school uniforms, the presence of braces and bright colors and teddy bears in porn shoots, the means by which one considers the babysitter or the college girl, fantasies of student and teacher in classrooms that are somewhere permanently between high school and college, are all developed out of a clear vocabulary of pedophilic desire. it is specifically in realizing a prohibition that the means of its violation are established and structured so that in this way, the sexualization involved in pedophilic flows of desire can be justified by claiming a recourse to these symbols, to an acceptable structure of transgressing prohibition. It is through normalization that these standards of âbeautyâ are developed and made into a means by which sexual violence may be regulated and repeated.
effectively, there is a continual desire expressed in these structures, an unstated but ever-present acknowledgment that the prohibitionâs presence is all that is stopping the realization of pedophilic desire, and that in fact this is an affirmation of pedophilia as normal, unavoidable even. the abuse at hand is entrenched with the sexual vocabulary of the West.
