- yogurt. couscous. curry. grapes. grapefruit. tea; continued with the cold tea from last week... until one of the plastic bottles i was using started to get quite moldy at the bottom, and i didn't notice until it was empty, that is: i drank from it. have been wincing at the memory every time i remembered which is all the time. still drank tea on the weekend, but normal style, i.e. warm and from a cup. it's just not the same though.
- went on a walk every day. a long walk on one day and short walks (the shortest of my three routes) on the other days. i really wasn't feeling it this week. but i still went outside every day!!
- a whole week around 25C. not quite as hot as during the heatwave, but the direct sun was fierce, and it was quite humid and stuffy, too.
- felt exhausted. just overall pretty tired and no energy. not sure why. i blame the constant background level of moderate migraines this week.
- spent much time perusing tumblr. checked out lots of music; almost done with my japanese to-do playlist now, and therefore almost done with all of my to-do playlists. which doesn't mean i'm going to stop checking out music, but that i might need to go exploring again.
- still reading ancillary justice by ann leckie. the first third was quite slow and half of it not very interesting. though i understand that it was required for build-up and backdrop, it didn't compell me. i didn't care much for the switch between present and past with each chapter; it makes it harder to keep details in mind because the context changes so often. with the way worldbuilding and details are woven into the text naturally and without explanation of terms or such, the reading required focus and my full attention while at the same time not being very engaging. that's not easy, quite tiring, and not very fun, so i had a bit of trouble to keep myself motivated to read. i'm now at around 50% and it picks up a bit after the one-third mark, but the continued switching from present to past, i.e. from stuff happening to nothing happening at all, really throws the pacing off, imho.
