seeing a black cat is actually good luck because then you get to see a cat
reading about a character who is way too similar to you and having an outside perspective on the situation:
Women have suffered and been oppressed for so long and to such a large extent that it ends up being used to discredit us. After all, how could so much suffering occur to such a large amount of women unless on some level women were used to it or even enjoyed it? the argument goes. Our voices are silenced, our words are erased, our brains and bodies are mutiliated, and then our silence is used as proof that we didnât mind it. Many times if you bring up oppression, people will say âTimes were different, women didnât mind itâ or âitâs a different cultureâ once the oppression of women is so strong that it is heavily ingrained in the culture, it is seen to no longer infringe on womenâs minds, that women just easily adapt. Then all the signs of rebellion, womenâs rage and sicknesses, are treated as pathological and unexplainable.

Hi so abt the post of yesterday. The "emapth" meme was actually created by people with low/no empath making fun of "empaths" but for some reason ppl who doesnt have low/no empath found that meme and started doing it too
I hope Iâm understanding you correctly but in regards to the meme, i do think i remember seeing it pop up in the low empathy community first. In my post I was actually referencing the people who were unironically stating that they were empaths that could somehow magically know what people were thinking. I remember it got really irritating for a minute there bc suddenly everyone was an empath and a lot of them were just using that label to further demonize disorders that already had enough stigma attached to them. People were really eating that shit up too haha. I was trying to avoid most of those types of posts though so im not too sure about the details to be honest
I'm sorry but saying you can't say narcissistic abuse is so invalidating. Like its a different kind of abuse than any other. That doesn't mean narcissistic people are bad or will be abusers. But you can't just erase tonnes of peoples trauma because you don't like a term.
the thing is that narcissist abuse is just emotional abuse. thereâs already a term for that kind of abuse and narcissist abuse is just the ableist version of that term. itâs not that we donât like that term, itâs that itâs actively ableist and sanist and throws every narcissist under the bus for no actual reason other than people need a scapegoat and someone to pin every evil thing in the world on so they can dissociate themselves from it. the need to say narcissist abuse comes from the need to dehumanize and demonize a group of people so others can distance themselves from it (ie âiâm not a narc, i would never do that/think thatâ). itâs a way to create a boogeyman to blame for all the bad things that people do/say instead of acknowledging that everyone is capable of bad things no matter who they are/what diagnoses they have. the term is inherently oppressive against people who already struggle with being seen as human beings in the eyes of society. emotional abuse may have less of a attention grabbing effect, but itâs the correct term anyways. stop throwing narcs under the bus for the sake of your âvalidityâ
Anyone can be abusive as a result of their struggling mental health. We don't use terms like "depression abuse" despite the fact that someone with depression can be abusive as a result of their depression. Abuse from someone with npd is NOT unique. This is because the individual symptoms of npd aren't specific to npd.- Lack of empathy, grandiosity, entitlement issues, struggling with your self esteem, can all occur in other mental illnesses and even in people who aren't mentally ill.
