mackmisa is actually a side effect of the misa being too sincere phenomenon. he’s much too honest about how he feels, and he compliments mack so genuinely that it has no place in a locker room. it’s not a crush really, misa just actually thinks mack is cool and crazy good at hockey and happens to have a nice face. the same could be said about plenty of other people, but maybe not to the same extent hockey wise.
yet when misa is saying mack is so great and i’m so proud to have him as a teammate with a bright smile, he gets weird looks. mostly weird looks from will who agrees, yeah… but why are you saying it like that? why are you saying it at all? he thinks it’s fine if misa wants to have a crush, and go around embarrassing himself in front of mack, he just should chill it out a little. it’s lame and distracting
sam is watching this all happen and can’t figure out if misa is crushing on macklin celebrini of all their teammates or is being way to genuine about his idolization again. both feel plausible enough but the more he sees them interact the more he gets the vibe that misa talks to mack like he’s sidney crosby but young and misa’s age. sam’s pretty sure the only reason he feels majorly relieved when he figures this out is bc will and mack clearly having something going on so it’s good that misa doesn’t have a crush and isn’t about to get his heartbroken… no other reason…

yeah ik some of the comments in that video made me kinda sad 😭😭 like yes it’s nice to see so many sharks fans (esp of the youtube comments demographic) say hell no we’re keeping will but like…. yall know he played at a 70 pt pace as a skills-heavy sophomore in the nhl right? yall know he was the second highest point producer despite missing like thirteen games right? yall know he is one of the highest performing forwards in the like the past three fucking draft classes, right??? 😭😭😭
no exactly and whats killing me is that some of these people seem to think will has earned mack's respect because they make tiktoks together and have fun off the ice...? likeeee mack has bonded with will this much and respects him this deeply because he's a good hockey player first and foremost and everything else comes after that. mack would hate a will trade not just because they're best friends but because will is literally the second most skilled forward on the team 😭 and these are the dudes that hold mack up as this future captain and talk about how smart and driven he is and then completely fail to apply that understanding to how he evaluates the people around him. it's also one of my biggest gripes with warso's whole will lacks compete narrative. do you genuinely think macklin celebrini of all people would get this close to someone he viewed as careless or not passionate enough about hockey? be serious!!! mack respects the hell out of will because he sees the player he is

For every narrative/au dynamic of Sam, Mis, Cat and Toff, in every version it's important to know that to me, Mis is the cat that Cat and Toff adopted/fostered.
