I like to the think the way Mermando got his legs is that he had to trade something that held emotional value with a witch. So he gave his family necklace. It was obviously hard but he wanted to see Mabel again. When Dipper finds this out he’s determined to get the necklace back and to find a more permanent solution. At first when Mermando popped up out of the blue Dipper was super suspicious basically what happened with Norman but 10 fold. Because what do you mean you suddenly have legs??
Mermando gives Mabel shells and different human items he finds in the sea
He calls Mabel Sea Star, My Treasure, Darling, Mi Amor, Starlight
Mabel calls him Lover Boy, Handsome, Babe, Angel Face, Tadpole
He plays with Mabel's hair lovingly
Makes shell jewelry for each other
Despite Mabel not being much of reader she researched everything merfolk
Mermando still writes little letters to Mabel
They spend most of their time at the Lake
They do in fact take long walks on the beach
Mabel teaches him literally every single thing about humans
Mermando found out he loves ice cream, his favorite being strawberry
They share ice cream, Mabel always has a different flavor and he's always curious to try it
He gave Mabel a heart locket he found in the sea, she never takes it off
Despite knowing he's a Merman, Pacifca will drag Mermando’s fashion choices
Mermando loves Waddles, maybe more than Mabel does
They do the spin hug everytime they reunite, even if it's only been an hour
Despite not being able to cook, Mabel makes different dishes for Mermando
They swim together, Mermando shows her the different sea life in the lake
They have done the underwater kiss at least once
