Captain America’s Shield has been exposed to Tesseract Beams, fire, survived 70 years on ice, saved him from a 10 story drop onto concrete, and survived a 200 foot drop from a helicarrier.
Yet when you look at it, there are always 4 distinct scuffs on the shield that look like they were left there.
SHIELD could have easily taken them off, but why would he leave them you ask?
Because those marks were left by Peggy Carter before the shield was even painted. I think Steve wanted to make them show as a reminder. She really left her mark on Steve and his shield.
