it's head versus heart every time . even before the eternity marius had given him , kieran led with his heart . it had pulled him away from his family , his siblings , and pulled him direction into marius' arms time and time again . his head and every red flag he can only stare at every time he passes them , never stand a chance . the memory of the hurt he's left with in the wake of each time marius leaves him , the loneliness that settles and rots his insides in the other's absense , it's all moot whenever marius calls him home . he can pretend and front that he's putting his foot down , but with marius whispering to him and holding him again , he's crumbling already . eyes flutter shut and he's so damn close , kieran's entirey body pulls into marius . he knows it's a lie , he can feel the sharp and jagged edges of his words that only show themselves when marius is untruthful , but he can't find it in himself to care . to break apart this moment . he melts into him , his arms wrapping around marius . " please don't break my heart again . " it's not meant to be said aloud , he doesn't want to beg this man for anything again . lips find marius' and it's like coming home .

" you're good at a lot of things . that don't include you getting hurt . " he tells him . " and there's definitely healthier things you could find to make you feel alive . . . surely . "

" he quirks a brow in her direction . he reaches for the shot again , but this time he takes no risk and instead , he downs it . a satisfied ah is given as he settles the shot glass down , welcoming the familiar warmth the liquor brings .

aiden  couldn’t  stifle  the  fond  little  hum  as  fingertips  trailed  across  his  jawline,  brown  hues  half  open  as  he  looked  at  him.    “  you  drive  a  hard  bargain,  ”    words  were  paired  with  a  faint  smile  playing  up  on  his  features,  resisting  the  urge  to  lean  forward  and  kiss him.    “  you  can  have  the  whole  damn  closet  if  you’d  like.  ”

" mmm . . . or . . . i could just not have anything . no closet , no drawer , no clothes . " he grins , voice near sing song like as he weaves in closer . he presses lips against aiden's , lingering there for a long moment . he could soak in the quiet , tranquil and peaceful moments with him .
