I drew these pages as part of the EU-CONEXUS - Comic Strip in Sciencie initiative, which aims to inform non-expert audiences about the findings of promoted research projects.

In my case, I had the pleasure to work with Alonso Sanchez, a researcher from my city, on the topic of walkability of our towns and how it affects our environment and health.

The 12th annual international gender census, collecting information about the language we use to refer to ourselves and each other, is now open until 30th August 2025.

It’s short and easy, for most participants it takes 5 minutes or less.

After the survey is closed I’ll process the results and publish a spreadsheet of the data and a report summarising the main findings. Then anyone can use them for academic or business purposes, self-advocacy, tracking the popularity of language over time, and just feeling like we’re part of a huge and diverse community.

Cartoonists for Palestine is a volunteer group of cartoonists, writers and editors. We are creating an archive of comics about Palestine to help create an international community of artists and to shape public understanding of the ongoing genocide. Since launching in March 2024, we have published over 100 comics on our online archive. We are now fundraising to publish a print anthology, which will be a 200-page, full-color book of comics created by over 50 artists from around the world. Pre-order it here, or through Gofundme.

Here's an exciting graph, to show that I am working on this year's Gender Census report. :D

This one shows that they/them popularity is moving at the speed of time - the popularity curve among age groups moves by about one year per year. This suggests that liking they/them is a sticky trend connected to age.

But also, older age groups are warming to it ahead of schedule - the appeal is spreading oldwards, but apparently not youngwards.

I am… not a statistician, linguist or sociologist of any kind, and I apologise to everyone for my extremely weird explanation.
