not sure if anyone agrees with me but i believe that the older pevensies have super fast reflexes from the bottom of my heart.
for a long time, they didn't let lucy fight or come with them to wars. first, it was because she was little but the real reason was that she never grew up in their eyes or they didn't want to believe that she did. it took such a long time for lucy to make them understand that she's a big girl now. but until she convinced them, they've already been to too many wars that led them to be always alarmed and careful.
circuitously peter, susan and edmund had shockingly fast reflexes and none of them knew until one dinner a spoon slipped from lucy's hand and susan caught it before it fell to the ground. even susan surprised and it made her like a real warrior as she was.
when lucy found this out she turned it to a game. she would just randomly throw things up to her siblings and ran away. they never got angry tho, as long as it makes lucy happy, it was okay.
after a while they realised that it also was a great way to train. they would ask lucy to throw an apple or something up, sometimes susan was the one who shot it with her arrow or the boys who cut it in a half with their swords.
when they got back to england, lucy wanted to continue to this game. one dinner it was again, she threw a fork to edmund, peter caught it without even looking but their mother freaked out and yelled at lucy. why would she do that? her brother would've been get hurt? peter might not have caught it? lucy couldn't know what to say, was embarrassed to look anyone's eyes so peter had to take over the control and comfort their mom with saying something like "it's okay mum. look, i caught it and no one got hurt. let's not make it a big deal." with a soft smile, but deep down he exactly knew what lucy was feeling, they all knew.
at that night when lucy crawled into her bed, she didn't sleep. she cried. not like a baby but a young and noble lady as she is. when peter was checking his siblings he heard her and woke susan and edmund up. three of them ran to her and gave her a big hug. edmund took her face in his palms and made her sure that she can always throw things to him and peter promised that he will always catch them. meanwhile susan placed a flower crown she made before on lucy's head and they all screamed "long live queen lucy!" with a smile on their lips and tears on their eyes.
