DoMayStic Day 11: Fun-Sized Candy + Alternate Prompt C: "Don't tempt me." (by @astrobookwormsinger)
Dylan looked towards the large window panes. "Do you know when he'll come back?" The cat on his lap seemed content in appearing asleep.
"Hey, don't fret, Eddie' knows today's important," Flash assured him, reaching out to pat him and Normie. It was Dylan's birthday, and Eddie had managed to save up enough money to bring everyone to a cafƩ specialising in desserts. And then he'd gotten a work call.
"Who is it this time? Jameson? Oh, I bet it's Parker again," Andi sighed, pushing her purple hair out of the way. "Is Bren coming?"
"He and Toxin said they'll be on their way," Flash sighed, probably tired of being the only 'adult' at the table, even if Andi was also technically a legal adult. "Besides, we already haveā¦ a pretty huge slab of chocolate on the table as a 'starter' for the symbiotes."
"I wish my dad could come too," Normie spoke up, looking to the side.
"Oscorp never rests, does it?" Andi asked, then turned to look at Eddie, who was still on the phone a little distance from them. "And neither does the Bugle, it seems." She turned to Normie. "Cheer up, I wanted Guinevere to be here. Maybe they'll come next time."
"I'm getting hungry, can I have some of the chocolate?" Dylan asked, frustration seeping into his voice.
Flash nodded, but the cat on Dylan's lap chose that moment to flick its ears up and hop on the table.
"I heard 'chocolate'," Sleeper said, stretching, and then looking at the untouched treat. It walked towards it and sniffed. "Fun-sized, too. Smells like caramel."
"Caramel? I don't like caramel," Dylan protested.
"You don't need to tempt me twice," Sleeper said, opening its mouth, grabbing the slab, tilting its head back, and practically inhaling the entire bar. It was gone in seconds.
Dylan's jaw dropped, Normie gasped, and Andi tried to stifle a laugh. Flash sighed and looked up at Eddie, walking back from his call.
"Hey, where did the chocolate go?"
"Ask your youngest," Flash said with a strained smile, rubbing the bridge of his nose.
