Orbis Tertius

Bienvenue, привет, and nice to meetcha! Let's start with a map! Orbis Tertius in the year 19ZZ; the Spy War is in full swing, Mankind is making a mess of their moon, and President Randy Travis has survived his first year in office.

The world is trifurcated between petty superpowers. In the West the Republic of Federalia claims to represent the "Free World", while in the East the People's Commonwealth of Soyuz is sanctimoniously modeling "Utopia". Stuck in the middle the Empire of Elan is deluding itself, pretending that it's still the middle ages. All are engaged in underhanded espionage and downright dirty tricks in the hope they'll see their worldview triumphant. With the caveat that they'd like to not end up disintegrated when it happens.

New technologies are promising us a better future. A future with twinkling unnatural satellites zinging overhead, computers that won't even require your own Pigeon, and cars that can run on just about anything flammable. Someday soon you could enjoy a action-packed vacation to Diana's Crown on Luna, or a sub-nautical cruise under the Nostronian sea. The only thing that's clear is the future looks bright, less certain is if that light is just from a new bigger laser aimed right at us!
