Been playing Phantom Liberty again and the bit that's clinging on to my skull lining is Songbird blocking out Johnny. Personally, and this likely is not canon compliant at all lol I headcanon that it is a deeeeeply unpleasant experience for both Johnny and V.
For V, imagine your literal other half being completely, suddenly unreachable after all the shit you've gone through with them without a whisper of consent by some random runner you just met.
And for Johnny, imagine tasting a tiny amount of freedom - even just through delayed sensation - then boom back in the dark empty void that imprisoned you for 50-fucking-years only able to hear what's happening to your literal other half.
I suppose if you look at the Arasaka ending, V does go freaking mental when Johnny is suddenly ripped out, so I suppose that could give some standing to this hc? But again that's likely cause 'Saka put some weird shit in V as well as the separation.
