The Tumblr Exodus
By now most of us have heard what Tumblr is about to do.
Many things have already been said about this ongoing issue. If I had to contribute my own two cents, what is happening is a serious threat to free speech and expression, and a major (however unfortunate) milestone in modern censorship.
A huge thank you to all of my 500+ followers for dropping by and enjoying the content. This blog has just recently turned 1 year old (blame Tumblr for the infanticide), and I've loved connecting with everyone here. Tumblr has made it easy for all of us NSFW bloggers to let our minds sing out loud - it is a pity that the corporate wheels are soon due to silence us.
This is just the first chapter - we are all looking for our new virtual homes and myself is no exception. I'm waiting for the backup of the blog to complete before choosing a new platform to migrate to. If anyone has any suggestions moving forward, I would gladly hear them.
In the meantime, here's a link to the Change.org petition to rescind the Tumblr adult content ban - not putting any hopes up, but at least you can let your voice be heard:
tumblr.com: Allow NSFW content on Tumblr.
December 17th will be a dark day, indeed. I look forward to when the dust settles.
