I hate that people feel the need to constantly rank on Val Kilmer and how he acts.

Like with this movie “Conspiracy”.  They say that he’s too overweight for the role and that his acting is bland.  Let’s see, his character is a war-hardened veteran who has PTSD.  His character doesn’t seem to reach out to people and the one person he did connect with has been killed.  He doesn’t know who did it and is determined to get to the bottom of it.

After hearing so many negative reviews of this movie I wasn’t sure how I was going to find it but as soon as his character tried to defend himself but was triggered by the action and got sick, I was completely won over.  I’ve never been able to find anyone who has actually understood that PTSD doesn’t always mean that you just get sad and reclusive, that your body physically reacts to it and then when we get to see that he has just one leg, I started sobbing.

And the more his character was tortured the more I just fell in love with Val Kilmer’s acting because yeah, the movie is a bit, eh, but his acting will always remain brilliant.  ANd for those saying that he was flat as Wyatt Earp in “Wyatt Earp’s Revenge” seriously shut up.  Shut up.  You don’t know acting.  His eyes, his voice, it’s all there.  Quit expecting in-your-face-gotta-go-over-the-top reactions because that is nothing.  True talent lies in subtly and Val Kilmer has that down perfect.
