The Chosen One

Where  he  came  from,  his  people  would  compare  his  aim  to  a  clanker.  Anakin's  eyes  trailed  to  Bucky.  "You're  excused,"  he  said  with  a  smirk  appearing  on  his  face.  "My  men  had  better  when  they  took  a  piss."  His  mouth  twisted  in  thought.  Honestly,  he  grew  tired  of  waiting  while  his  new  supposed  friend  tried  to  hit  the  target.  Glancing  down  to  the  ground  from  the  rooftop  above,  he  saw  his  target.  It  was  directly  below  them.  "I'm  tired  of  this."  Standing,  he  shrugged  off  his  cloak  and  called  his  saber  in  his  hand.  "If  you  will  excuse  me."  Without  another  thought,  Anakin  backed  up  and  went  running  off  the  edge  while  igniting  his  saber.

The  willingness  to  stay  with  a  family  that  would  rather  kill  her  made  his  brows  crease  in  concern.  "I  can  not  tell  you  what  to  do.  You  are  the  Queen.  What  I  can  say  is:  What  does  your  heart  tell  you?"  It  could  be  as  simple  as  that.  Anakin's  heart  told  him  to  leave  this  blasted  place.  Everything  was  going  to  hell,  and  he'd  be  damned  if  he  was  dragged  down  in  the  process. Anakin  stopped  in  his  tracks  as  his  eyes  went  back  to  her  slowly.  "I'm  not  bored  of  you.  I  just  have  a  lot  on  my  mind."  In  truth,  he  had  been  so  preoccupied  that  he  didn't  see  Helaena's  suffering.  Frowning,  he  turned  towards  her.  "I  never  once  thought  you  didn't.  It's  just..."  Sighing,  he  shifted  on  his  feet  uncomfortably.  "I've  learned  that  trusting  people  leads  them  to  death.  Getting  attached  to  anyone,  you'll  end  up  with  your  head  on  a  pike.  Heed  my  words,  my  queen.  Trust  no  one.  It's  better  to  be  alone  than  to  have  a  knife  put  in  your  back."

Lilac  eyes  stared  at  the  queen,  his  queen.  In  Anakin's  mind,  she  was  as  worthy  as  any  man  who  sat  on  the  Iron  Throne  before.  It  was  why  he  pledged  himself  without  a  single  thought.  Why  he  left  King's  Landing  amid  his  father  having  him  stripped  of  his  titles  and  knighthood.  And  why  he  burnt  anything  in  his  path  all  out  of  anger.  Loyalty.  It  was  plain  and  simple.  She  was  the  rightful  heir.  Not  the  fucking  usurper. Anakin's  violet  eyes  tore  themselves  away  from  his  queen  to  look  at  the  raging  ocean.  Its  wraith  could  be  felt  in  every  corner  of  the  known  world.  And  so  was  his.  His  blood  boiled  with  each  churning  wave.  He  had  already  determined  he  would  be  the  one  to  kill  his  father  and  free  his  sister.  That  bastard  deserves  a  slow,  agonizing  death. "But  you  are.  Your  people  know  it.  I  know  it."  Anakin's  jaw  set.  Death  was  an  inevitable  part  of  life.  His  ser,  Obi-Wan  Kenobi,  told  him  not  to  weep  for  those  no  longer  with  them.  If  justice  was  to  be  done,  then  it  was  the  gods'  will.  He  didn't  know  if  he  believed  in  the  Faith  of  the  Seven.  The  Old  Valyrian  gods  dictated  far  different  terms.  His  mother  taught  him  in  their  ways.  "Death  comes  for  everyone  eventually.  Depends  if  you  are  willing  to  let  them  suffer  further  for  the  Hightowers'  greed."

Anakin  couldn't  help  but  chuckle.  His  grandson  always  had  a  wit  about  him.  It  reminded  him  very  much  of  Leia  and  Han  when  they  were  younger.  "Don't  doubt  the  Force.  It  has  an  odd  way  of  testing  boundaries."  Anakin  kicked  over  the  body  near  his  feet.  Poor  fool. Over  the  years,  he  witnessed  more  than  one  miracle.  He  learned  to  trust  the  Force's  will  and  listen  to  its  every  whim.  It  was  like  a  warm  river  that  rushed  through  him  with  crashing  waves.  Sometimes  he  felt  overwhelmed  by  its  pure  strength.  "True.  And  this  is  why  I  am  training  you  to  be  able  to  fend  for  yourself.  You  did  well,  Ben."
