Lark is born in House Tully, to Marigold Tully, the youngest daughter of Hoster and Minisa Tully. The first few years of Lark's life was in Riverrun. Her mother, often a sickly woman managed to give birth to a single daughter. Lark was around three or four when her mother succumbed to an illness and died.

Lark's father is from House Blackwood, and was a love match with Lark's mother, and married. He unfortunately met his end when he lost his life defending his home during a skirmish with House Bracken. Lark was about five or six when it was decided she would ward with her aunt, Catelyn Stark.

There, she becomes a companion to the Stark children, she is a year or two older than Sansa, and becomes her friend, while also being friends with the other Stark children. While she is a Tully, she considered Winterfell her home.
